Allegedly, George's words about Lewis were in reponse to him being asked about Kimi and he gave it as an example that you never know what younger driver can do. I will have to find a whole full quote for the context to make sure 😅

After few hours that did not change my mind about how stupid this race was (and I totally don't agree with f1tv that it was "entertaining"), coming back FIA stupidity in general and also to Max vs George thing, I think the season is too long, everyone there is tired and had enough of eachother so probably everyone, including journalists is exagerrating a bit. However, this off track tea is more interesting than the race was tbh because I don't remember Max being as mad at someone as he is at George. On the other hand, Max does not like to be called out for his "tricks", or however we call them, so his anger might be a delayed one from earlier about being finally punished in Mexico for sth he had gotten away with earlier ( I am 100% sure George was active in drivers' discussions about it, maybe he had a power point about pushing people off track :)) Also the paddock it too friendly happy go lucky family lately, everyone loves eachother and makes up immediately like Carlos and Charles, even Baguettes made up etc so every conflict seems attractive in a way to make it bigger :)

Anyway, I am trying to have any enthusiasm for the last race, but my favourite things about George and Max thing from my update a second ago:

- Horner called George's behaviour "hysteria" and as much as I don't trust Horner's judgment, I wonder really what George did to make him think of that word exactly 😂

This one is killing me 🤭

He is a snide twit at times and he really needs to check himself about what he's saying about Lewis, but I do still love George most of the time.

With all the mess yesterday i think we missed the stupidest stewards decision of the race. Liam got a 10s penalty for "causing a collision" with bottas. The thing is.... he didn't even touch him... He just spun and Valtteri had to go wide to avoid him but they never touched 🤦‍♀️
So instead of making jokes about Ericsson phantom hitting people, we can now joke about Lawson phantom hitting people.

Agree with this - if it was dangerous enough for a double yellow then why didn’t they do something about it. Also it appears it switched from this to green a good few times

These double yellow situations are always a mess. A double yellow means that the drivers must be ready to stop on short notice, realisticaly none of the drivers would have been able to do it yesterday. Like Max set a fastest lap under the double yellows, how could it be possible if he was indeed going slow enough to be able to stop?
I think they should implement a maximum speed limit under double yellow, just like they do in the pitlane. This way it will be safer for the marshals on track and easy to monitor for the stewards. And the drivers won't be able to lift for 2s to show that they saw the flags and then accelerate again.

This is a very fair point. If what is being said is Max lifted but didn't lose speed, how could he have been prepared to stop. Same for other drivers like you say.

Which just shows how inappropriate double yellows was in the situation.

Not sure with how the things are - I would guess they kick of on social media on Thursday, properly a farewell dinner on Thursday or Friday and then he‘s getting delivered after the race in some way to Fred and Ferrari

In the middle of all this drama, Fred reunited with Lewis as team principal in f1 after so many years since they worked together is an adorable story on its own 🥰

I do hope Merc will make a proper and lovely farewell, I hope it will not be all business like (tbh I feel like they should have started at least after the summer, they will not have such driver for years, if ever)

I also hope Lewis has some special outfit or some special celebration prepared 😅

Is there a grown up around to start a new thread….i feel we are going to need it!!!

Not going to believe that until it’s official- how many times did we had that rumor?
(But Horner def sounded like it’s the end for Checo - which could also explain the need for alpine to „test“ Jack and if he’s not that great they could go after Checo or vb for example)

I will do the new thread 😉

New thread here:
