Haven't seen any of the F1 journos I follow tweeting anything this morning so I won't say what it is....it is something that I think was posted about in this thread previously, so its not super super new news exciting. I didn't really want to believe this Alpine rumour but it has some truth to it apparently. And somehow Ecclecstone is part of the story 😅 (i wonder when this fossil will stop being linked to f1). He apparently gave Briatore some sud american sponsors contacts to help him get the money to buy Franco out of Williams.
On one hand i will be happy to see him on the grid but on the other it will be in an Alpine 🥴

Him and Pierre could be a fun combination though. I have nothing against Jack, I know him more as guest of f1tv shows (less this year, more in previous) than a driver and I have no idea about his marketability, but Franco seems to be a little star already so I guess it is also taken into account. It all should come down to racing*, I have no idea how they compare to eachother racingwise
Franco has a beer ad now too 😅

(who were the drivers rhat called him intrigues me the most)

It was mostly a dig at De Meo who, last year, said that he wants Alpine to be the French Ferrari... And now they:
1- Don't build the car in France
2- Can't do a fast car
3- And now don't even have their own engine 😭

And then they will come crying that the French buisness didn't want to invest and sponsor them. Why would they want to sponsor something who is not even made in France and who won't even help them gain popularity ? Because really Alpine is nothing here. They have only 1 model of car with 10113 spécial editions which cost more than some McLaren cars with less performances 💀

At least we won't have to listen to 1h long speeches everytime a team launch its car 😅 It will be time saving 😂

I just hope it will be interesting for the people who will pay for tickets to be there.
I guess they will also stream it?

Good source, Knit!

My take is that it might be either really bad or really really good, especially if they make announcements for drivers over the top and extra enough. At least I will not feel bad for teams whose presentations online gain little interest and there will be equal audience for all. But it can also be dull if they go with FIA gala vibe and old men will be yapping boring stuff

It ruins my dream of Lewis arriving on a horse in regal costume to the Fiorano track for Ferrari presentation, but that could happen another time 😂

I would even consider going to London for this

Probably nothing that juicy. I have a family member who is a sports journo so they get press releases for this kind of thing ahead of the official announcement so they can be prepared ahead of time.

I am just looking at it as some fun fluff. Noones going to show any real secrets car wise and it's just a promo opportunity for everyone to be in one place. I will try for tickets (unless they want ridiculous money) since I live in London anyway, but I imagine that numbers wise for the O2 vs demand, I've probably got more chance of Sir Lewis Hamilton asking for my hand in marriage than getting tickets 🤣
