The social ban was dumb. It would've slightly made sense if every contestants comment section was closed. But now, people like Tanya are going to be subjected to thousands of message filled with vile threats, abuse, r*pe threats and racism which is much worse imo. I literally saw a comment where someone said they wanted to throw acid on her!

They should've gotten some pre-approved posts from the islanders and then gotten trained social media account handlers to run the accounts.

Would keep the family from being subjected to abuse while still keeping their accounts active which is why people often engage.

Going on Love Island is never suppose to be about furthering your career, personally I think the show has run it’s course but if it does continue I think they should keep the social media ban.

Its obvious that all these islanders go on this show to become influencers and lead a glamorous lifestyle, and what’s scary is how disappointing it can be for them to leave this villa and find out that they don’t have a million followers or their pictures don’t get the likes they’re looking for, not to imagine the abuse some of them will face with how they behaved on the show, and it’s more harder if you’re a poc. I remember kaz taking a mental health break and prior to this she would appear sad and upset in her YouTube videos. She spoke about the abuse she received when she left Matthew and went back to Tyler. Didn’t coco also say she thought she would have a million followers when she left the show? Personally I think 110k followers is still a lot but maybe it doesn’t translate well with islanders. It’s probably why ekin su brought followers

Tiktok is a breeding ground for starting rumours. I doubt it tbh their wee fans will have their hopes right up though.

Regarding the couples, I always suspect behind the scenes there is a year-long contract for them to stay together. Often splits come at bang on the year mark. Maybe Gemma bought out of hers.
