I think they're doing a PMDD storyline with her, probably with an eating disorder and a suicide attempt chucked in for good measure. Something similar to Summer in Corrie. Both soaps like to copy each other. Soon Emmerdale will become Cathydale.

Definitely should get attention so women are aware there are options that could help. I also can't recall it being covered on a soap before so they could be right in that respect, but no doesn't warrant all the hype.
