My friend's mother is in her mid 80s and she and her gang of old lady chums love Emmerdale.
A few of them have a soft spot for Jeff Hordley.
They usually lap everything up and think it's great but recent conversations with them state that
1) what is Emmerdale buggering about at? That food fight was ridiculous.
2) it's time that they got rid of that Chastity. She just struts about with her hands in her pockets being nasty to everybody. Time she went.
3) what's happening with that David? One minute he's here next minute he's gone away again. They should make their bloody minds up.


So even the old guard superfans are saying it's crap now.

They’ve said on a few news articles he’s left. I don’t know though he may be back in a few months when there’s no work😂 a lot of the characters on there now give me the ick and they’re legacy characters. The humour isn’t funny anymore they try too hard. Even the Meena storyline is boring now. Also, the wool pack looks awful!😂
 
The Vanessa/ Charity, will they/ won't they storyline is even worse than the Meena rubbish. Emmerdale is usually my favourite but I don't even know if I can be bothered anymore!

They had the chance to brighten the Woolpack up a bit but instead they made it look even dingier than ever. Emmerdale is one of the most gloomy sets on TV. Everything is so dark.

Lots going on at the moment but not much of interest. They need to lighten up a bit and then start a fresh storyline before they lose viewers.
 
I've just read an article about Cain sleeping with 15 year old Ollie Reynolds years ago and how fans want him now to face punishment. If I'm honest I'd forgotten about that storyline and I think it would be good if they did mention it again to show how historical abuse can still be investigated and potentially punished.
