I read somewhere actually that children complain of a sore tummy when the discomfort is somewhere else. Need to find the article. It’s just something they say. We've been nowhere all weekend, holiday today so no school and youngest is almost crying complaining of a sore stomach (underneath belly button) and generally just looks peaky/not herself.
A bit sniffly in general and got adult teeth pushing through so a bit grumpy in general but I am panicking so hard right now.
Have Calpol to see if it helps but I am so panicky. It can't be a stomach bug because we've had no contact with anyone with one (or anyone outside of family since Friday!)
Ffs lol the wind.I have no idea. Other than her teeth, maybe nerves at going back to school tomorrow? She's been a bit funny so far this school year. Only P2 but finding the work hard.
My other thought was covid or some other cold type virus that can cause stomach pain (I want to say one of the adenovirus types?)
I'm normally ok when she says it's lower down because that's normally wind but it seems more than that (and she's not had much dairy which is normally what sets it off).

And it was wind. One big burp sorted it
Bloody kids, gave me a heart attack. Still not convinced she isn't going to wake up in the middle of the night once the Calpol wears off because my brain is stupid like that.
Well this is awful. 30 hours later and I’m still having D. I thought it was finished yesterday because I had nothing for 6 hours but now it’s back again every 30 minutes and I feel sick this morning too.@swimming I've only just seen your post, so apologies for not replying! I hope you're feeling better this evening.
Funnily enough, I was googling about diarrhea as my friend's boy has it and it made me paranoid too. Apparently the D comes after the V with bugs. So if you are already on D then the V shouldn't happen.
I actually had the same a while ago, I had D but the V never reared it's ugly head - THANK THE LORD. So, fingers crossed, you should be ok.
As for your little one, I think he should be ok as you have to invest the infected particles I think? I think that's how it works but I'm not 100%. And your vigilance on hygiene has been good and can only help the situation.
There's a bug going round my daughter's school, I'm desperately trying to ignore it but I'm so scared it will hit us. One of her best friends has just come back after having it (thankfully her mum is a good mum and adheres to the 48hr rule!) but it just reminds me it's still hanging around so the worry just never subsides.
I can't lie, I would take that over the other option any day of the week.Well this is awful. 30 hours later and I’m still having D. I thought it was finished yesterday because I had nothing for 6 hours but now it’s back again every 30 minutes and I feel sick this morning too.
There’s not much else I can say other than this is horrific and looking after a child at the same time is hell on earth. I just want to cry!
I’ve just eaten a slice of dry white bread and having some lemonade. Haven’t been to the toilet for 4 hours so I’m praying this is now getting to the endI can't lie, I would take that over the other option any day of the week.
I can't imagine it's easy looking after your son with that going on though, and the option of resting isn't there either. Make sure you keep your fluids up and hopefully the worst is over xx
It’s 60 hours now and I’m still having D. I’ve lost a stone in weight.How are you @swimming? Doing ok I hope.
I've just dropped my youngest at nursery and had to endure the story of how her kid is doing with a bug. That's set my day up really nicely...
This sounds strange...maybe you ought to call the GP and try and get seen? 60 hours is a very long time and the weight loss is a concern too. It’s 60 hours now and I’m still having D. I’ve lost a stone in weight.
This is so odd because I’m not in any pain. No tummy ache I just have to run to toilet. I’m surviving on 4 dry crackers a day.
I had a slight fever on day 1. But now I’m starting to think could this be something like diverticulitis?!
Yeah it’s so weird. I don’t feel unwell. Maybe a bit washed out and feels like I’ve been kicked in the tummy but every single thing I eat comes out again within 30 minutes. I’m staying hydrated so that’s okay. I’ll keep an eye on things and phone the out of hours doctors if I need to.This sounds strange...maybe you ought to call the GP and try and get seen? 60 hours is a very long time and the weight loss is a concern too.
It does sound strange...how are you doing now? Hopefully it's all passed or you've gotten some advice xxYeah it’s so weird. I don’t feel unwell. I’m still unwell. Having D again today. Spoke to 111 and the advice I got was to just call my GP on Monday if it’s still going on to get samples done.It does sound strange...how are you doing now? Hopefully it's all passed or you've gotten some advice xx
Oh crikey, that's not great advice is it?! Defo call the GP on Monday though, although I hope it sorts itself over the weekend. You must be shattered you poor thing xI’m still unwell. Absolutely ridiculous. I am so tired I cannot even explain. It’s waking me up at night too

Yeah I tried immodium. I’ve taken 3 tablets over the last 4 days and it does work I can confirm. But 8 hours later when it’s worn off, I’m back to running to the toilet again. So all it seems to be doing is prolonging this nonsenseNot a long term solution but might give a few hours relief, have you tried immodium? If you can get some electrolytes down you as well that will help you rehydrate. Hope you feel better soon x
