I worry for this one. I’m not massively gender critical (I generally sit in the “you do you as long as it doesn’t effect others” bracket, which I think the majority of trans people fit in) but I do think Elphaba is cosplaying most of the time. She has an obsession with a character from a musical and it’s her happy place and that’s really all it is.

if I think back to when I was 18/19 Les Miserables was my happy place. If I could have been transported back to 1830s France I would have done. I lived and loved that musical. However it did not cause me to make Any changes to myself that couldn’t be corrected. I grew out of it and still ADORE the show but thank duck I didn’t have kids young and call them Enjolras and Grantaire because that would be well embarrassing now.

I worry that this will be the same for Elphaba, her priorities and interests will adjust as she gets older and she’ll become much more balanced. If that’s the case I hope she doesn’t to anything that can’t be reversed.

I chortled reading this. I relate very much to the Les Mis obsession you describe. Looking back I’m surprised my family didn’t stage an intervention, I was such a bore about it.

I once sang most of the libretto to my poor friend who was unlucky enough to have to share a room with me on school camp 😂😂😂

I’ve said before - thank god the internet wasn’t a thing when I was 18/19.

I’ve just watched abit of the live but had to turn it off as couldn’t cope with the constant over the top screeching.
can’t believe how quickly people have forgot the lies! Wonder how many of these gifters are young people as well as their following seems to be quite a younger audience from what I’ve seen.
Can’t understand how people have money to waste on someone they don’t even know and especially someone who lies about disabilities.
Worlds gone mad!!!
 
I think what surprises me most is that she clearly has a fan base of sorts. The Discord server was no doubt full of trolls but she also clearly had a sizeable group of people who were supportive, or at least not critical, of the things she did. I think a few of the Tourette's Tik Tokers have also said that they were being annoyed by her fans/having their videos reported a lot
 
What in the actual heck is going on in that live?? Why is she screeching like a banshee? I mean, more than the usual screeching 😬 why is she so "omgggggg I'm in shock"?? Are people literally sending gifts that are basically money for her?
