How old is actual Eastenders ages of characters though surely Vinny isn’t 28/29? And Suki can’t be 42 with 33 / 36 year old son. A lot of cast play different ages don’t they

i went to look on the ee wiki (they have confirmed birth dates etc for a lot of characters) but nothing for kheerat other than the below:

“On 1 March 2021, Kheerat mentions his family opened their first shop when he was eight and it remained open for twenty four years, and that during that time they faced grief from lots of people, but his mother, father and uncles all stood their ground.”

so he’s supposed to be at least 32/33 on the show i would say?

for suki it says this:

“Suki was mentioned on-screen before her introduction, Suki is introduced as the mother of Kheerat Panesar, Jags Panesar, Vinny Panesar and Ash Kaur, and she was a teenage parent”.

i think most of the cast play different from their actual ages though!

I've always seen Vinny as early 20's - maybe around 22, which is why he doesn't remember his dad at all. Kheerat is probably meant to be early 30's and Suki late 40's - so she would have had Kheerat when she was around 18.

I find the Panesars a very interesting family, the lady playing Suki is a great actress and has real chemistry with Eve.
Does anyone know why Kheerat is the only one to wear a turban? ( I don’t know much about the Sikh religion )
And nodding in agreement with the poster who said about all the good looking Panesar men :)

Why is ash’s surname different?
I found these answers on Quora:

'This name is given to us by our 10th Guru. It was mandatory to use our last name as Singh or Kaur But today lot of men who are supposed to use Singh as there last name and women supposed to use Kaur forgot and have eliminated Singh/Kaur from their names. Singh and Kaur is used to tell everyone that we belong to one race no one is higher or lower. But sadly today everyone is divided into castes and subcastes and leave no opportunity to show or bring eachother down.'

'Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked all Sikh men to use Singh meaning Lion after their name and girls use Kaur meaning princess

This was done to get rid of caste indentfiers inherent in Indian last names'

I have wondered that about the turban. I just assume he's more committed to the religion than others. If the dad wore one you could say it got passed on to his kids, but he doesn't.

I always thought he wore it to portray his character to be the 'perfect' son - obediant, honourable etc. I thought so as he seems to be Suki's 'golden child'. I like the development of the family esp Suki ans Kheerat, giving them multiple storylines at once (Ranveer, sexuality, husband being released, running businesses and interracial relationships).

That old man made me cry he’s so cute.

I hate Jean
I can't stand Jean either, glad someone else is on the same page as me 🙂 Her illness is used as an excuse for her horribly selfish and manipulative behaviour all the time. Harvey is much too nice for her and he should run a mile.

I can understand why Jean might have reservations about Kat marrying Phil, but how on earth could she think that the lying grifting idiot manchild Alfie is a better option beats me.

Obviously most the actors didn’t want to come back couldn’t be bothered
Lindsey Coulson who played Carol does not like being asosciated with EastEnders any more. I am surprised that Patsy Palmer didn't come back. It would be nice if thet could have got Pat's ghost back, stood in the corner of the church, smoking a cigarette and saying I have a 20 pack here waiting for you Dot.

Yes I agree. They could do a lot more with her.

I liked it when she was doing dodgy solicitor work for Gray but I guess she's not allowed to practice anymore. She could surely do better with her legal training than making bacon baps all day.

Did we find out her backstory as regards the solicitor-ing? Wasn't she meant to be a loose cannon at the start. I like her, but there's a lot can be explored if they're willing to work on her past
