that makes me think - another thing i noticed about recent ee, in all its awfulness, is that there’s no real friendship groups. jean and shirley i guess are the closest we have but they haven’t had scenes together in ages. they broke up the martin and kush bromance too

Lofty was a pretty dull character. I watched the classic Eastenders when they ran it a few years ago and enjoying the story with him getting jilted by Michelle. But the rest of the time he just acted mopey and pined for ‘shell and was quite irritating.

Masood has beautiful eyes!
They ruined his character towards the end. Loved Tamwar too: I was disappointed when he and Nancy left.
Shabnam was a good character - I liked her with Kush. She went through a couple of personality transplants over the years. Would love to see her back in the show: she's not dead or anything, is she?

The actor that played Tamwar has went on to have a very good career. He's in an American series I'm watching now called Station Eleven. I've also just realised that the program that was on bbc last night called Rules of the Game had one of the Shabnams in it
