Delighted at this news. I would have got rid of her years ago. Just never taken to the character and she's had so much doom and gloom over the years. Probably more than any character ever. I think she reckons she's bigger than the show, but she's had chances on other shows to branch out over the years and nothing has come of it. I reckon in a year or two she will be wanting to come back.

Shona could easily go into a musical on stage. I'm surprised she stayed around so long. I reckon she'll be back in a few years though.

Won't miss Karen particularly and hopefully Bernie and Bailey will trot off with her. I don't mind Mitch but the family have had their day now.

Shona's a good actress but I think Whitney has run her course as a character and needs a rest. I hope they dont kill her as itd feel like another ronnie scenario when they are so traumatised and then die when they are even slightly happy

I think reading around Karen was axed can't say I disagree with it she's been annoying of late. Glad Shona is going she's a good actress but Whitney is pointless

Or me. I don't really care about Karen either way but she still has family that they could write storylines for. For example they could bring back the younger boys who disappeared (recast with decent actors). Mac and Mia have become invisible but Mitch has still got mini Greta and the surrogate drag queen for family.

I would definitely prefer useless Bernie to disappear over Karen.

I imagine the actress of Karen costs money, much the same with Whitney (doesn’t fully sound like the actresses decision). Bernie wouldn’t cost as much, and she’s a gay character - they want to keep up diversity.

I kept wondering with bringing back Ian & Cindy, and bringing on Elaine & George, where was this money coming from. It felt inevitable that some surprise exits would happen.
