Where does it say that?

I don’t get how Corrie win so much. The acting is atrocious and they literally make everyone in Manchester look like they’re stuck in about 1967

Much like Eastenders then. Walford apparently hasn’t changed since the says of the Kray Twins, most of the people who live there wouldn’t be able to afford to live in that part of London and it’s nowhere near ethnically diverse enough. It’s always made me laugh. Like it’s stuck in a weird old fashioned London bubble 😂

But to answer your question the panel will always give Corrie and Emmerdale awards to keep ITV happy. It’s been ever thus. Corrie has been rubbish for years now. It really doesn’t deserve to win anything.

Couldn't agree more on all of this.

Also, they spent a fortune on a set that looks like a set, if you get what I mean. It's too clean and neat, like a twee model village. East London is grimy (no offence, it's part of it's charm), the new set is all too picture perfect. It's more West London than East.

It’s kind of comforting in a way. It’s as if there was a corner of London untouched by gentrification. Maybe that’s why none of them can get jobs outside the square. It’s all under a glass dome or something.

In real life, the pub would have been ripped out and painted grey inside. It’d be renamed Vic and sell £12.95 sandwiches. That’s if it wasn’t turned into 50 flats by now. All those terraces would be flats or HMOs and would mostly be city workers and a few hipsters. The caff would be called something like Bean & Brew and have that annoying fake rustic look and sell flat whites. The market would be a crappy overpriced farmers market and Shrimpy would be selling £7 loaves of sourdough.

Got it spot on 😄
Although I recently saw some rustic bread on sale in Borough Market for £40 🤣 who on earth would pay that?
I'm glad that Eastenders has stayed firmly in the past myself.

Yes! I've been thinking this a lot recently. Especially when I watch the classic episodes in comparison it looks so realistic and grotty but in a good way lol.
I think it's one of the reasons EE has lost that community vibe recently cos it just doesn't look or feel like a real community

I’ve just got back into eastenders after 15 years… last time I watched Kathy Beale was dead but here she is. Looking fabulous 😂 however went down a rabbit hole and worked out she should be 73 years old 😂 I’m addicted but the random inaccuracies and now there’s new babies childrens and teens related to absolutely everyone 😂 it’s a minefield to unravel! I need a Walford family tree haha

These 2 new sisters are terrible. The blonde one, I think a combination of her acting and the character just don't work for EE. I hate how they are handing the storyline with Ollie, coming in and changing his routine, they girls taking over the house and Linda's mum telling them to collect Ollie from school when they're strangers.
Linda's mum, needs to go already 😂

I don't know what is going on with this latest episode and the lighting but it's so off putting, you can tell they've used one of those massive light reflector things in almost every scene, it looks so unnatural.
