I'm so not prepared for everything being Ben related, last year I was just getting pissed off while watching. Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but Max Bowden just doesnt do it for me acting wise and makes me find ben even more annoying. I also hate how they seem to have tried to use Ben being a victim of sexual violence as a way to redeem and justify him being horrible to people (which he always has been anyway). Also as someone with a long history with an ED i just don't feel very optimistic about this story. Please can they send Whit and Ben on holiday for a bit

The Zak coming out story was too rushed..packed in one episode. Felix/finlays speech was so out of place and meodramatic, Nugget googling and then saying you're the problem was even more out of place and then Ravi hearing those words takes a total U - Turn in his reaction. The remarks regarding gay etc are 'natural' responses and EE writers should have left it at that rather than have the resident responses, correction and then the judgemental remorse (I'll buy you a drink for me being ignorant) all in one episode. It was soo poorly done and doesn't justify the magnitude of the story.

Zak and Whitney moving in together?? Have they even been on a date? Do they know anything about one another? It makes zero sense.

Also how are Karen and Mitch buying people drinks in a London pub when they're always saying how money is tight. In fact why is money ALWAYS so tight? Mitch's income as a cab driver in London would be half decent, Karens working, Keanu too there are no dependants in that house. I get that they're not high earners but no dependants, they NEVER leave the square or use transport and don't ever seem to buy new clothes etc.

Lola, Ben and Jay ergh can't be bothered AT ALL. I personally dont think Lola's character adds much to EE and dont think she'd be missed.

I think Ravi's character has a lot of depth and potential but no one else right now doing it for me.

EE needs two/three new families, fresh faces and less issues.

I wish the camera was facing Ben head on, I reckon he is freeballing in those shorts. 😍

How has noone on the square sat either Zack or Whitney down and said slow things down a bit. Imagine one of your friends got pregnant after a one night stand and started going on this like this, you'd be worried about them.

And as for Lola, I don't think she actually brings anything to the show anymore, I vaguely remember her giving birth to Lexi but that's just about all I can think of when it comes to her, expect her current storyline. Which is actuellt just annoying me now, it seems a bit all over the place. She's done nothing but moan and screech "pops" for years now.

It seems they spend ages setting up storylines only to have them concluded in the most ridiculous and rushed way ever.

They’ve done nothing with Felix and his brother since they arrived in the square and now he is giving an indignant speech in the Queen Vic, all that secrecy that Zack went through, the really sensitive scenes with Sam (of all people) only to have it blurted out in the pub, fall out of the revelation also in the pub, then back to pub for a makeup drink and Linda conveniently remembering Nancy, all within the space of 30 mins.

Zack’s “girlfriend” sleeping (why?) so all of her friends coming around him to support him, then all of them going back in the pub he fled from only an hour or two earlier for another drink. What time did Whitney go to bed? 7pm?

Same with Lola, weeks spent setting up storylines about her mum, the reunion, the fall out, everything, only to have her leave in the middle of a storyline.

Kheerat, the heart of the Panesar family, involved with loads of people in the square, remember his friendship with Whitney? Chelsea? Suddenly gone down for life and Stacey barely blinked and no one has mentioned it.

Mack, Mia & Bailey live at the Taylors who are dependants

So have the rest of the Taylor’s. They have literally had the most traumatic thing that could ever happen to you - your dad murdering your mum and no one ever even mentions them.
They’d be in constant councilling and monitoring in real life, its so bad.
Karen loves her kids a lot but she never mentions how the boys are getting on at their dad’s either

he doesn’t do it for me acting-wise either. he falls back on doing the usual ben “tics” (smirk, eye roll, blank stare into space etc) with no real substance to his performance imo. ben is just a frustrating character in that the show never lets him grow or learn from anything. like with whitney, he jumps from trauma to trauma to issue with no character progression.

being a young male actor on this show must be so frustrating. you don’t get a look in for a big story while ben’s around (and if you DO get a story he’ll still be involved somehow 🤣). again, whitney is exactly the same.
