Well done Ben Mitchell, our handsome hero. He gets knocked down, but he gets up again!
 
It seems odd to me that Ben would risk boxing when he has a cochlear implant. After all his hearing was badly damaged after he knocked his head during the boat accident a few years back. Contact sports aren't really encouraged as you could damage the implant. But hey Ben is a knob!

I think all of Ben's erratic behaviour is leading up to a custody battle over Lexi when Lola is gone. Jay will be the responsible parent and Ben the general knobhead. Then there will be a tussle over who should have custody of her.

I think the writers have just forgotten about his implant to be honest. They just don’t give a tit!

I have read spoilers thatLola tries to remove Ben’s parental rights or something so Jay gets custody and there’s a big storyline about it coming up. I was bored just reading that spoiler, it was so predictable that they’d go that route.
 
Sorry if this comes across as insensitive. I don't mean to offend people in similar situations in real life...

Jay is young and will move on one day, whereas Ben will always be responsible for Lexi and look after her. He can also provide her with financial stability which Jay can't.

Why does Jay need to legally adopt her? And why did Ben take that as Lola taking her away from Ben? He'd still be her dad

It is taking away his rights as a dad. Jay would have all the rights about her life and important decisions.
No dad still fully involved would agree to that

Ben is Lexi's real dad and so should get custody when Lola dies.

Ben may be an arse but he has rights. Jay is only her step dad and has a conviction as a sex offender. No doubt Ben will get custody in the end but first we have to see Ben acting like an hole until he wakes up 🙄
