You just reminded me that Mitch stole the funeral money meant for the old lady’s funeral. He was such a bastard and now he’s dad of the year.

yep never mentioned again and complete character turnaround. Im confused is he 'together' with Karen or just living together?

Does anyone have any predictions?

I think they get together and do something. Maybe kill someone? Though the story hasnt built up to anyone/anything.

Completely random but what happened to the flat that Janine and Ryan lived in? If memory serves me correct it was the same awful green one that Gus and Sean lived in, and Billy and Jay when Janine married the old Jewish man

It was the downstairs flat of Number 43. Ruby bought it and turned it back into a single dwelling, Sharon now lives there with Zack and Martin.

he really is! 🔥🔥

dennis remains the hottest man on ee (don’t reply to me i know i’m right 😉) and it was great seeing him again. i wish he’d go back to the square and save sharon though, however much this show pushes the phil thing dennis was the love of her life!
My friend had the audacity to say she finds him creepy looking! I think it might be the eyes they're a bit intense but I personally think he is fine as hell!!
Suddenly im a casualty fan
He's in it for the foreseeable because he's the acting clinical lead! 🤣

I used the postcode for Fassett Sq, which is the square the show was inspired by. I assumed that Stacey earnt £800 from the van and Eve earnt £200 a week from her work with Stacey and doesn't declare the work with Nish. I've also assumed that Stacey gets PIPs due to having bi polar and that Jean is a joint tenant and that they have rent of £2000 a month, excluding Jean's share. This is the benefit payment, they also get their wages and child maintenance on top of this. Please tell me why Stacey is skint? She will most likely have got all the cost of living payments too. Stacey would get PIP on top of this too
My calculations could be off but by adding together the minimum wage for 3 adults in London, how much maintenance Ryan could be giving Stacy and the child benefit she should be getting they’re annual income could be £87,032. Surely this plus benefits is more than enough to live off.

I don't think theres anyone , anyone i can think of that i thought was in that age range is older. Also irrelevant but apparently clay milner russel is 24 wtf? Saw it on famous birthdays but it really surprised me
I had a look at the cast lists for the soaps and it’s actually easy to narrow it down as hardly anyone is 25. The only two men that I can see who are 25 rn are both from Hollyoaks

Admittedly London is expensive, plus there is childcare (or the just leave them with Whit option). But yes, it’s so stupid when soaps have people struggling to run a market stall or whatever and they don’t just get a shelf stacking job! When all the Carters lived at the Vic they were really, really broke and there were like eight able bodied adults working in the pub that could have done shifts elsewhere.

Weren’t the Slaters all cleaners for a while? That’s got to be a more lucrative business than baps. Cleaners round here charge £15 an hour and they tend to work during school hours too.

They've all been cleaners for years I think but it's just Jean that does it now. Stacey sells baps for a quid so obviously her profits are nothing. I guess they have much more money issues than ither families because there are so many kids? I find it weird as the calculations have been made and i'm sure Martin helps out too and Carmel might send stuff for Arthur. It's weird that other characters aren't suffering as much, Finlay doesn't seem to work and never complains about money, a lot of characters just walk around all day but can fund their lives fine

Looking forward to tomorrows episode, very intrigued to see how it all plays out. I’m guessing nish will be involved with a few of the women

I think Sharon and Linda’s storyline will be about the vic, potentially selling to Nish?

Stacey selling the bap van to Nish? Or she borrows money from him or he becomes a shareholder? Especially as she’s now going to lose Ryan’s maintenance, she’ll feel desperate

Denise I think will give in and sleep with Ravi

I think, focusing on the Slaters being skint is a misstep for Eastenders because it's quite easy for the average viewer to work out a ballpark figure of how much money they have going into the household. There are two disabled people living there too, who would both have got the cost of living payments due to their disabilities. There are three working adults and 3 children with two fathers paying towards their child's upkeep. Lots of viewers will be scoffing at the idea they are suffering due to the cost of living crisis and think that others are milking it too, which is untrue. Eastenders has a duty to be realistic in this regard because for some, it might be their only place to form an opinion on how certain people live.

Also, why aren't we hearing Kim, Howie and Patrick complaining about the cost of living? There's 3 adults and 3 children in that house, one adult is a pensioner and there's no father to pay maintenance for Kim's children. Kim and Howie's jobs aren't well paid and Howie will have lost pay due to strike days, surely they'd be suffering too?
