What happened to Ash? Didn't she used to be out drinking all the time during her days working at the hospital, and wore hoodie and jeans. I get she's a few years older now and suddenly managed to have her own surgery on the square but she's so boring, she never does anything except float about in stupid clothes sulking and adding her 2 cents worth in to family disagreements. Yes it's odd that she left and was then brought back to be a very minor background character. We've got several medical stories going on at the moment but she's had no involvement with any of them as the local GP. I guess she's going to be leaving again soon. It's a shame that the character hasn't been developed in anyway.

Also Nish is now promoting Vinny to be his right hand man when Ash is the more intelligent of the two, but I guess that's just good old fashioned sexism. How is Ravi going to feel when he finally realises that Nish couldn’t care less about him?
 
I feel like Ash might have been brought back for a Suki coming out story, as Suki treated her really horribly in the past due to her sexuality. They seem to have done some weird stuff with the Panesaar storylines. They built a set for the GP surgery which has never been seen since, they’ve dropped characters like Kheerat with a moments notice and brought back Ash to do nothing. It seems like they’ve had last minute changes and not really thought them through.

I think the Kheerat actor quit unexpectedly (I doubt he was axed) so the storylines may have had to be re-written. I reckon Kheerat would have had more storylines about being wary of Nish & Ravi with the rest of the Panesars being on Nish’s side and Kheerat being the only one who didn’t want to listen to his father
