Glad Keeble is going off to her retirement home in Crete šŸ˜„

I enjoyed the Phil and Kat reunion. I hope that they do get married and Alfie buggers off but I have a bad feeling that he'll be managing the Vic for L.

Honey annoyed me with her silly posturing tonight šŸ™„ It wasn't Philā€™s fault that Keeble was a lunatic and he did his best to help Billy so Honey can naff off šŸ¤Ø

The social worker/police team will want to know who the father is of Lily's baby so they can rule out grooming or a pedalo loose on the square. There's no reason why Stacey should be the one to inform Jack about what his son's been up to.

Iā€™m hoping Lily chooses not to go ahead with the pregnancy.
Her, Lacey and Gillian are playing a blinder with this sl, I prefer to see Lacey doing ā€œproperā€ acting rather than stuck in that burger van.
Stacey and Jean were talking about abortion as though it was a fait accompli. Fingers crossed that's the route the writers take with it. I think it needs to be this, especially as abortion rights are being eroded internationally. To me, that's the most interesting route to take, we never really see abortion as a positive step in a girl/woman's life on our screens

Definitely - and having a very young girl go through that is unsafe and cruel. Stacey had an abortion when she was around 17 I think, way older but at least she would understand

I agree about Kat and Phil, it was well acted and well written, I genuinely thought she'd dump him but after I had listened to his speech about protecting her, I came round and thought, yes she should stay with him. I also agree that the Honey bit was daft, none of it was Phil's fault, his Dad got Billy into trouble and he destroyed Phil's life too and Honey would never stand up to Phil like that.

+1. When Jean mentioned termination in a very matter of fact way, I thought 'you're absolutely right'.
I hate the storyline but all three are acting it to the hilt. It's really credible.

I loved this bit too. I think EE going down the route of abortion instead of having a 12 year old mum will break the taboo of it. I like the fact it was just mentioned first instead of the usual ā€œbein a mum is hard but itā€™s very rewarding etcā€

I think Alfie saying he's giving up on chasing Kat is setting up a new sl where Linda comes back and gives Alfie his job back at the pub. They get together, then Kat gets jealous and the cycle starts again
Or it's a double bluff and Kat and Alfie have a plan, he's stepping away a bit suddenly considering the scene before where Kat was privately at breaking point over what had just gone down and threat to her childrens life if she stays šŸ‘€

Alfie disappears for YEARS and suddenly realises (again) Kat is the love of his life and she should just get back with him despite how he's treated her??!

If Alfie must have returned they should have had him with a new family and his move was because he wanted to have a relationship with his sons as well as his new family. Alfie and Kat could have been friends and it'd show how divorced families still get on and are very much involved in one anothers lives.

That Keeble ending was the absolute worst!!! After all she's done shes willing to just drop it and walk away?? One day I'd like to see Phil NOT win for once..

Really hope they go ahead with the termination storyline. Soaps sugar coat pregnancy and young pregnancies especially in a way that isnā€™t realistic. Every abortion is seen as something that scars and affects the character for the rest of their lives, which might be true in some cases but definitely not all.

I think Iā€™m the only one hoping they donā€™t do a termination. I hate the storyline anyway but EE have a habit of just brushing things under the carpet or forgetting about them, a 12 year old having an abortion is a big deal and would send the wrong message having Lilly acting completely normal 3 weeks later and it never being mentioned again.

same. i know itā€™s an emotive subject but lily is 12 years old. having a child at that age essentially ends her childhood and redefines her life at an age where itā€™s just tragic to do so - not to mention the impact and potential trauma on her physically. it does, and i know not everyone will agree, seem the most ā€œlogicalā€ decision on how to deal with this.

as said above, i do hope that they then portray the aftermath of it all. ee has been awful with aftermaths on all its storylines for the past few years so i donā€™t hold out much hope though.

You wonā€™t be the only one but I cannot see how they canā€™t but go ahead with a termination, Jean and Stacey have been discussing it as a fait accompli. I cannot be the only one who thinks children should not be given birth to children.

But all the children in soaps are put in a cupboard until they are old enough to be traumatised. There is no way they would properly portray a child learning to be a mother, showing all the sacrifices that child will have to make, showing how her childhood ends, showing how she can no longer sulk, spend time doing nothing, spend her pocket money on bits of make up, spend time with her mates etc...

All it would show is that a child being a mother is easy and Lily can have a normal teenage life. At least an abortion storyline would show that abortion is a necessary good for women and girls and not everyone who has one ends up depressed or suicidal

exactly. babies/toddlers on ee tend to disappear from existence (or at least are only seen in a handful of scenes), i assume because itā€™s hard to work with baby ā€œactorsā€ - but there is no way that they will be able to fully portray the complete trauma of a 12 year old having to adapt to being a mother.

i am actually glad that both stacey and jean have been shown to bring up abortion as the most logical and maybe most empathetic option. i would also like to see a storyline which portrays abortion as being the most appropriate decision for the mother. ee did it pretty decently with lola a few years back so i hope they go down that route now.
