If you are having any hormonal bloods, the lab needs to know male or female sex, other isn't useful for progesterone hormones. That's my point about 'other' not being useful in a medical setting

Genuine question and I'm not trying to be funny- are you saying that sex is of no bearing to a hematologist and it doesn't matter at all to those in the lab? My understanding is that it very much does matter but perhaps I'm wrong on that. Happy to be corrected

The lab carries out the requested test. It is the doctor interprets the results taking into consideration other factors such as age, and sex. So no. It doesn’t matter to the lab.

The sex doesn’t change the result of the test so you wouldn’t need to know in advance, the lab gives the results to be interpreted by the practitioner.

Just when I thought she had reached rock bottom...she’s actually doing a paid story for hand sanitizer, so in the middle of a global pandemic, when we are saying that the floggers shouldn’t be pushing the hard sell with people out of work etc, we have the dose of dr. Doireann being paid to promote hand sanitizer!! Like in the medical field we can’t even get a pen from a drug rep anymore, but she has the cheek and audacity to accept payment to promote a particular brand of HAND SANITIZER. I’m so mad right now

It does matter. Gender must be input when requesting tests. Different reference ranges for Male and females.

90% of her medical "content" is contraception. It is so boring! She should really be telling people to s0eak to their own GP about their options as she doesnt know their history.
