I used to love 999! It was one of my favourite programmes for years! Some scenarios that I still remember so clearly are a woman getting her hair caught in the bottom of a jacuzzi, a woman slicing through her hand while separating frozen burgers with a knife and someone being attacked by a bear in the woods. I wish they’d bring 999 back. It was so interesting to watch but also really educational, I learnt so much about first aid and keeping safe as a child from it.

Was this the one you remembered about someone being stuck between two walls?

Oh wow yes that will be the one I will have been a child when that was on too
crazy how things stick in your mind

I feel like I'm derailing the thread a little, but which magazine had position of the fortnight in it? I remember a girl at school collected them all in a ring binder
Does anyone remember J17? I started reading that when I was about 10 as my mum had no idea what it was about.. I remember one from when I was about 11 came with a full-on pocketbook ALL about sex, foreplay, positions... It was amazing :ROFLMAO:

Does anyone remember a show about a bunch of children, I'm talking probably aged 8-10, they were sent to live in this big house by themselves and were given the responsibility of running the house, think they had so much money to live off and they had to obviously decide whether to be sensible or spend it on crap! I have no idea what it was called but I remember watching it and I would have been a similar age (I'm now 30 to give an idea of how long ago it was), I thought it was amazing and was jealous I didn't get to go on it! I just remember them having a big party but can't remember much else! Would love to watch it again!

omg I loved that show, it was supposed to be a lord of the flies esque experiment wasn't it? they went wild and totally trashed the house, looked like a real life fun house imo 😂😂 i remember my mum being horrified at how hilarious I found it and saying I'd dothe same! they did one with girls that was totally different, just doing fashion showsand playing nicely 😂

YES! So glad someone else remembers it! I couldn't remember whether it was split boy/girl or not but I do seem to remember the girls were a lot less wild. Did they do a boy one, a girl one, and a mixed one? It was so SO good!

yeh I think they did all 3 of those, if not it was just 2 one boys and one girls. I was so jealous I wasn't on it either! (albeit I would've been about 13 at the time it was on 😂 feel badfor whoever had to clean up after 😂😂😂

I really liked House of Tiny Tearaways and another one where they had all these single mums in a mansion and they filmed them around the clock dealing with their different issues. It was around 2005ish I think because my own kids were babies and I watched the toddlers with a mix of fascination and fear of what might be coming next!

I loved 999 - it was the fireworks episode that always stuck in my head, I became terrified of sparklers

One that pops into my head every so often is the Sampoong Department Store Collapse which killed 502 people.

It's really worth watching the video but one thing that always stuck with me is that
one 19 year old woman survived being buried in the rubble for 17 days before they found her (she was okay physically in the end).

Thanks for posting the link for this, I’d never watched it before it’s very sad. Those poor young children and their babies. I’m off to read about what happened to them.

Yes, I would love to know if you do find out!

Another documentary that was linked on YouTube for recommendations was Kizzy:Mum at 14. That was very interesting also!

Oh I don't mean that horrible lump she lived with I mean her biological Dad. I just googled it and he's in the news as saying in 2012 that Shannon had asked to live with him before it happened. It's a difficult situation isn't it? Not being able to see your own daughter ever again for something the mother did.

Although, having read about the case at the time there didn't seem to be much good parenting going on.

I may be entirely wrong, as it’s been so long and my memory may be playing tricks on me, but for some reason I believe that she went to live with her biological father and brother (this sibling was already living with the father) and they subsequently were given new identities etc.

I really hope this is true and she’s living a good life ❤
But it must be hard being separated from her siblings

I thought she was adopted by a new family entirely

Johnny Kennedy and his documentary "The Boy Who's Skin Fell Off"

It documented the last few months of his life, from choosing his coffin, to moving out of his parents house into his own place, and raising awareness and money for his condition.

He was such a brave, honest and funny man. I always would think of him whenever I hear Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, which was played at his funeral.

I rewatched it again a few months ago. Still powerful TV.
I'm new to this thread but this documentary was the one that came straight to mind and I'm glad to see it mentioned just two pages in :)
