Delphi murders

We have the technology so why shouldn't the wider public be able to watch the justice system in action.

Justice is not about appeasing true crime fans, whether we have the technology or not! We don’t have the automatic ‘right’ to watch what goes on in court just because we find it interesting - it’s not a TV show. If releasing information could potentially compromise the trial or enable someone to walk free, then it’s quite correct not to broadcast it.

If there weren't cameras in Depp v Heard people relying on mainstream media reporting would think Jason Mamoa was a witness...

And? Who cares? That trial isn’t remotely comparable because nobody was brutally murdered.

what’s important is that justice is done by the people selected or qualified to help carry it out - and the waters should not be muddied by the court of social media.

I can’t figure this out & can’t find a decent podcast to listen to which goes over the evidence. True crime garage have attempted it by let their opinions run the podcast. I really hope the girls & their families have the justice they deserve.

Hi, The Murder Sheet have done an episode just about the evidence, I haven't listened to it yet, myself, but hopefully it's good:

Is there still a gag order? Maybe more info will come out after sentencing?
Yes, there's a gag order until Judge Gull lifts it, apparently.

For me it’s that the jury didn’t take very long to come to their decision. I had three cases during my jury duty and to me, they were all straight forward but each took a while to shake out for the 12 people involved. And even if we were in agreement, we would still take time to make sure we were right.

it must have been very straight forward in that courtroom for them to take as short a time as they did.

There are lots of trials streamed where brutal murders have happened. I have been interested in this case since day one as I've wanted justice for Abby and Libby and felt it should be a solvable case.

When the police department made so many duck ups and the judge who is a proponent of cameras in the courtroom wouldn't even allow audio to be released.
