Started the business last year and grew to a company with million pound turnover.

Just this year expanded their warehouse and recruited more staff.
Now out of nowhere Grace is leaving the company.

All the Brighton staff are being laid off and operations are moving up to Yorkshire with the other owner Zoe.

The reason they are giving is Grace wants more family time but they are being very cagey.

All seems very odd.

It’s hilarious. People are so dramatic and going on about not buying anymore. It’s the same products.

it did seem odd Grace leaving and the whole business loving to Yorkshire. Makes sense Zoe is from there and guessing wanting to be close to her family. Looks like she’s got a new girlfriend so maybe that’s why she’s moving too.

Kelly was manager at dead sweet and grace’s parents work there so shame for the staff but guess time for change.
 
I have nothing whatsoever against anyone at dead sweet. Always liked them all. I do think something more has gone on. Maybe I’m just reading between the lines too much. But a lot of the comments from Zoe on her “ask me anything” post on the DS page make it sound like she is a bit miffed about the whole thing. I could be completely wrong and she’s just stressed and messages don’t always come across the way we want them to.

A few interesting points I’ve seen:

Glory is going to end as well as dead sweet.
Zoe isn’t buying Grace out (not sure how it works tbh)
Zoe is excited to be able to put some of her ideas into the business
Zoe said change is a good thing

We will never know what has really happened and that’s ok. I wish everyone involved all the success in the world.
 
Unfortunately they didn’t get on in a professional capacity (latest DS post). Wish them all the best for the future though. I love Grace and Kelly’s page and I’m glad they are going to keep it going as they would definitely be missed! ♥️
 
People forget there doesn’t need to be only 1 reason for a business decision. They are good friends but friendship and business don’t always
Mix well. Grace and Kelly are trying for a baby and already have 3 kids and many other things so probably if there’s tension/arguments with work makes things things stressful. So probably it’s both reasons.

it did seem with the first video and some of the comment replies that there was some tension.
 
I didn’t realise they were trying for a baby. That’s so exciting!
I do feel incredibly sorry for Grace because she didn’t know about the Zoe video before it went out. She was trying to keep it professional, especially as she is still working for DS.
Deadsweet will probably lose a lot of followers now that Zoe has made that video as let’s face it people know Grace more and probably like her more due to the fact she is more present on tiktok.
I also feel so sorry for the staff, they are losing their jobs and with the cost of living increasing it is the worst time to lose your job. I will definitely miss seeing DS tiktoks with Grace, Kelly, Amy and the rest of the team
 
Grace seems very hurt. I feel for her as she still has to work with Zoe and Zoe has just made it 10 times harder for them.
Both in terms of winding down stock as all the tiktok arguing will put off customers and also I imagine communication between them will be very awkward.
 
Ooo grace is coming across bitter in her latest video.
People immediately were speculating about there being issues and more to it so in my opinion Zoe did the right thing telling the truth.
its a huge change for her and she’s getting some horrible backlash when there’s no need.

When I first saw Zoe’s post I was like oh you know things happen. Now I’ve seen Graces I feel like Zoe should have waited. She at least could’ve waited until Grace had actually left and address it. They still have to work together for weeks and it puts the team in an awkward position too.

Talking about the team, I get the vibe Grace is a far nicer and more supportive boss than Zoe.
Zoe reminds of a manager I had years ago who spoke to those under her like dirt but did very little herself.
