Sorry if this was covered already, I missed a chunk of the thread(s) over the weekend while busy.
In a live on August 21st (titled "STORY TIME WITH WHEELER") Dan told someone that they can sue their employer because they got let go for not having a vaccine. And says they can claim loss earning from today until their age of retirement. Stating something like "You're about to become a millionaire".
I am not getting into any vaccine discussion. I am just honestly astounded at the miss information this guy spouts. I'm no employment law expert, but even I know someone could at most, potentiality, sue for unfair dismissal and at a push some damages. If they can prove they employment contract has been breached. However you cannot sue for all future earnings and never work again, as realistically you'd find another job between now and retirement age.
The only time anyone can get a pay out equal to a lifetime of earnings is when they are injured in an industrial accident and left unable to work (say the loss of limbs due to an accident the employer caused).
I've laughed and joked around about this, but spreading that kind of ill informed nonsense is dangerous. Employment law is so complicated, and contracts vary greatly from employer to employer.
