Daisy May Cooper #2

Sophie Willan steps in for Never Mind The Buzzcocks captaincy - British Comedy Guide

Daisy is replaced but will be back for the Christmas special.

Bring on Sophie, I think she's great. I doubt she'll be thumping the table in such an irritating way. Hope they either keep the guest captains or boot Daisy off for good.

  • Sophie Willan and a series of musical guests, including Courtney Love and Beth Ditto, are stepping in for the absent Daisy May Cooper on Never Mind The Buzzcocks when it returns for its fourth series on Sky Max
  • However, Cooper, who recently gave birth to her third child, is returning for a Christmas episode of the music panel show
  • Four episodes in the latest series will have specific themes, Buzzcocks Does... The Nineties, Noughties, Rock and Girl & Boy Bands
Daisy May Cooper is stepping aside as team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, with comedian Sophie Willan and guest musicians, including Noel Fielding's ex Courtney Love, deputising in her place when the show returns later this year, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

However, the This Country star, who recently gave birth to her third child, is returning for a Christmas episode of the Sky Max music panel show, rejoining returning host Greg Davies, rival captain Fielding and regular panellist Jamali Maddix.

Alma's Not Normal creator Willan is assuming the captaincy for a handful of shows in the fourth series on Sky Max, while four themed episodes - Buzzcocks Does... The Nineties, Noughties, Rock and Girl & Boy Bands - will feature captains drawn directly from the world of music.

Former Hole singer Love, who briefly dated Fielding almost 20 years ago, is joining the show for the rock episode, while Beth Ditto, frontwoman for The Gossip, features in the noughties instalment.

"I am genuinely thrilled to be returning to the mayhem of Buzzcocks but realistically who reads these press quotes and why?" said Davies. "Watch the show please and in-between episodes get out into the air, talk to your partner, read to your children. Live, for God's sake live."

just seen this over on the other thread!!

just seen this over on the other thread!!

I think I'm being thick but I don't get it...

I think I'm being thick but I don't get it...

She had this thing during lockdown where a 'sea captain' was trying to romance her and she went viral with her responses

She's trying to do the same thing here, but on the second screenshot, from the colours of the text bubbles, you can tell she has screenshotted the conversation showing that she is both the user of the Daisy May account and the catfish account.

It was mildly amusing the first time with the Sea Captain but she milked it for too long and it got irritating fast. I couldn't even be bothered to read it all this time with the Elvis, but that's really embarrassing to fake it all
Totally agree it was funny about about 5 mins first time. She just had a baby, surely she’s got better things to be doing

Embarrassing! But she did the same with her faux anger at her publisher and some bendy di*k nonsense. It was all so made up for publicity. Shame as I watched this country the other night where the vicar teaches Kurtin to drive and it's such a funny episode!
I love that episode! I always cry with laughter, I love it. I do wonder what her brother thinks of what she is like now

Haaaa!!! I bloody knew that elvis and pilot chat was bullshit. Hilarious she outed herself as faking the whole thing!! Wasn’t even funny
She's carried it on though, saying he's blocked her. So she hasn't even fessed up, she's just hoping nobody saw it! I think it had been up for 5 minutes when I got a screenshot and when I went back minutes later to comment it was gone! Others had commented to call her out, but it was just before midnight so probably not seen by many of her followers.
