Dahlia Beach

She isn’t running a viable business at all. People will soon realise they are mugs to pay £1 to enter a field, dig up a dahlia tuber for £5 and then bring it home and store it over-winter. Looking for volunteers for everything, though I think she now pays helpers £10 an hour. Her boxes of dahlia tubers are ridiculously over-priced.

She wants the ££ but doesn’t want to put in the effort. Her wholesale field didn’t fail just because of the summer drought, she was late sowing the field and them went on holidays during the driest spell and left the field unattended. Most people who set up a business hang around during the crucial time.

If Eve leaves, it will be a disaster for her.

Glad to hear she is now paying £10 an hour… I see the new tuber ranges have just been launched. Retailing at £59.99 for 5 tubers and 3 packs of seed.
I just jumped over to Sarah Raven’s website- not known for being a bargain website to buy plants off by any measure and she is retailing the same tubers for £4.95 each, that means approx £25 for 5 tubers plus 3 packs of seeds which would be £5-10.
So you technically would be paying £30 for a cardboard box and some stickers. Shockingly overpriced!

The situation she's in with the bank is tit, but is it normal for businesses to cry about it on Instagram? Baffled 😵‍💫🥴

The poor woman is in over her head, she needs help with business, she needs financial advice to see if the business is actually viable. She is taking pre-orders for next year’s dahlia boxes, yet doesn’t know if she can pay for the stock.

This cheque thing is very frustrating but could be something as simple as the name on the cheque not matching the account name she is transferring to. She needs advice on opening a proper business bank account.

She needs to produce a business plan and not be going off on every tangent. PYO dahlia field, dahlia boxes, reels, wholesale market and flower markets, needing to be at prestigious flower shows, etc. Build up one or two areas first. Sell that bus for whatever she can, I’d say it’s financial drain with insurance. Having to hire vans to get to the markets and flower shows and all the props, materials, etc.

Her followers egging her on are doing her no favours. I hope she gets good, practical advice from someone.

She started taking the pre-orders yesterday at min £60 a pop. They’ve done several markets since the account closed and made AT LEAST £18k on Saturday with more dig up days to come this week. None of this will have gone into her hsbc account so will be available for ordering tubers.

I agree she needs proper business advice but she thinks she knows it all. Don’t forget, she’s not a flower farmer, she’s a ‘disrupter’

I don’t think she would have made £18,000 at the weekend. 700 tickets at £1 admission and then £5 per tuber. I would think most people only bought one or two tubers. I would think the max amount she would have made would be £10,000 and maybe a lot less, given there were probably couples would have paid £1 entrance fee each but just bought one tuber.

Even selling the potted dahlias wouldn’t have made more than £2,000. If that.

There weren’t loads really, just a handful really and I’m guessing it was £5 per plant and not actual individual tubers. I’ve lots of dahlia plants in my and if I dug up one dahlia plant, I’d have huge clumps too.

For whatever flowers and tubers she’s sold, she has big overheads - Eve’s wages, her helpers at £10 per hour, market stall hire, insurance, van rental, stall canopies, taxes, etc. Even selling 300 bouquets in one weekend at prices between £10 and £20 won’t earn her a lot given her overheads.

Wow… she’s coming across pretty unhinged. Don’t get me wrong it’s horrendous how HSBC have seemingly handled it, but it’s clearly flagged for whatever reason on their fraud / crime prevention teams. Doesn’t have time to fill in the forms for the ombudsman but has time to stand outside her local branch filming lives and reels? If that was me, I’d would be on the phone noon and night trying to rectify?

I’ve got so much to say about this account but haven’t the time to type it…however given that she has seemingly in the space of a few lives lost the plot I feel I must say something in the meantime. Surely if you’re running a business it isn’t good form to literally wash your dirty laundry to all your followers / potential customers?

Yeah and why doesn’t she just go in there and speak to someone as she’s there 😬

I’ve scrolled through the recording of the live and it seems she’s stood there because she’s filmed content for a Live. She’s trying to get on The One Show or Watchdog isn’t she?

Christ on a bike. I’m dying of embarrassment for her.

She's absolutely mental, that video of her singing is awful. She clearly doesn't really care about the money, she's loving how much drama content it's given her!

I have a small business and if something like that happened to me (not that I would ever have £58k in my bank account) I wouldn't be recording bleeping reels but be on the phone/in the branch trying to sort it out. Lunatic.
