Dahlia Beach

The weather was against any type of farmer this year but she now has rows full of dahlias with no proper plans in place to sell them. Can’t go to the markets for next two weekends because her husband is working away - so will this mean that several thousand pounds worth of dahlias in the wholesale field will be wasted?

Don't worry she's now advertising her 'dig your own tuber up' grift. Can't believe people actually do that when you can buy a nicely packaged tuber for less than that 🙄
 
The whole thing is baffling - growing a PYO field with no real inclination to actually be a face and presence there during opening hours, does not appear want to work weekends. Grow a field for wholesale and then have no real plan on where or how to market the flowers.

You‘d wonder if there was any financial planning, forecasting or budgeting at all, other than thousands of people will buy the flowers. Jumping ahead now to getting the dahlia tubers dug up and pre-sales for next year’s boxes. You would think when her husband hoped to work at this own career part-time, there would have been concrete plans, financial planning, etc.

She'll blame her ADHD no doubt

I definitely think she's running at a loss this year, especially after buying all those new Tubers
 
I can't believe there's a thread on her but it's so interesting to read all the posts.

I've been watching her since almost the beginning and I used to love her and was so invested in how the business was progressing. But as everyone has previously mentioned, the whole shtick is wearing thin, Constantly going from catastrophe to 'smashing it' repeatedly is getting old. I think I'd be more interested if she just showed the day to day nuances rather than 'IT'S AMAZING' or 'IT'S A DISASTER' with no in-between.

I do wonder how the cushions and coasters went, I didn't fancy them much personally.

You make a really good point, I wonder if she would be more appealing to those of us critical of her if she didn’t constantly see saw between the two extremes all the time, it’s getting incredibly old. I think people will be fed up of it after a couple more years.
 
I think her parents did a good job at showing
1. How overpriced each bloody flower stem was
2. How ridiculous she looks to others when posing and leaping about for reels.
 
Did anyone see 'Come down to the woods' stories this week? She went to Holland with QVC to advertise burning Dahlia bulbs from them.
All beautiful colours, stored correctly and you don't need to dig them up yourself!!!😁
I am sure there will be a cross over if followers between these two.

(*Come down to the woods' is a grabby influencer, who doesn't pay for anything and has her own thread on here but credit to her, she made the dahlias look good and reliable.)

It’s a bit of a crappy thing for Tom to do to be fair, pinching ideas from his so called bestie. I wouldn’t be happy if I were andie. Doesn’t surprise me though, he’s not the nicest person from my experience, only interested if you are a big name or can further his career.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he has pinched her ideas (although I don’t think they were original to her, rather the other person she does the courses with) as he is a snake and a weasel, and also another tv wannabe.

Interesting I thgouth he would be nice. Interested to hear everyones experiences with him
