Good to know that the government have been clear and consistent with all advice relating to amber list countries. Cheers Matt.

Can anybody sum up the meeting for me please?
Noisy kids 🙄🙄
Basically it’s in our own hands now we have to live with it ,there’s going to be a lot of things in place going forward testing, vaccines etc, they’ll be doing more tracking of peoples movements and testing the sewage to pick up cases sooner and we’ll have to change our behaviour so we can live alongside it.

Terrible analogy as sharks very infrequently bite humans and they're my favourite animal so I'd love to go swimming with them 😂

Maybe if you find an old one that's lost it dentures .... 😂

Bit confused why they are doing surge testing in North Tyneside now, they identified 8 cases of the Indian variant from a bar back in April!
They said their new system picked it up

Just reading the BBC Link

Looking quite promising from the data with vaccine efficacy against the Indian variant as well - guessing more info on this as time goes on but seems like potentially good news.

I know not everyone on this thread provaccine (as I found out from the a sick reaction to a post I made yesterday lol) but for those of us that have been / going to be jabbed - this has made me feel quite relieved!

Talking about pubs and rules.
Last year, a man walked into a pub (not a joke!) and he had booked a table. He knew me and 2 others at my table so came over to say "hello". The manager marched over and told him he can't chat to us because he has his own table and can't socialise with other tables.
I appreciate the worries/responsibilities the manager has to make the venue Covid safe, but I thought it was ridiculous too and especially as she then told us we could chat in the pub garden though.
They’re only following the rules though - it’s a bit like shooting the messenger

If the Indian variant has supposedly been here for 7 weeks already should we not have already seen a massive growth in cases and deaths?
Were restrictions not just lifted though? We have had it in Canada for over a month or so now and numbers seem okay and still coming down with people being vaccinated.

I managed to move my husband and I's vaccine appointments to this weekend instead of the following. Looking forward to finally getting it done :)

I’m 32 and I got my first one yesterday. Popped into the pharmacy after work for something else and they had vaccines that otherwise would have gone to waste as they have to be used in a certain amount of days. They offered me it on the spot. Said they were only doing that for over 30s though.

Next step is wait 5 days for it to show on NHS app then it will allow me to book my next one for 8 weeks time.

Just a heads up if anyone wants to check on the off chance! (This was in London)

Yeah I was surprised last Friday how quick it all was as I woke up Saturday morning with my NHS app updated and straight away booked my second jab within two minutes. Keep checking the app as it won't take five days.

Other countries are getting back to old normal. The only way to live. One month from now we need the same.

Just checked and it’s there and it’s allowed me to book my second one. Thank you 🙏
