Thank you
Don’t feel bad, I don’t know anyone that is designed to be with people 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My husband and family are winding me up too and tbh they haven’t really done anything wrong. I’m too am fed up of hearing/hearing about minecraft, roblox and Norris nuts.I’d love to take my walk alone today but I know that’s not going to happen. I feel really bad but you’ve said it right I’m just craving normality. Or at least a grandparent to take them to the park for an hour
Literally just said this too.... missing the grandparents taking them out for a bit!
Honestly, don’t be so hard on yourself. We are all just winging it. I’m a university lecturer teaching from home for the first time and I’m flying by the seat of my pants most days. Remember, kids learn through play too. You’ll be surprised what skill sets they are developing. Just set yourself 1 goal a day (it might be getting them to write a story or watch a Horrible History programme or find 10 things beginning with G, whatever) just remember you’re not a teacher and nobody expects you to be. You are clearly a good mum so wipe your tears, straighten your crown and carry on doing your best xThat last line resonated me with me far too much! Seriously struggling with everyone being around 24/7 and not even being able to send them to soft play or something for an hour or so or pop out myself to a friends or family’s house.
I wonder when the soaps will run out of episodes. I’m not liking this two episodes a week nonsense from eastenders/Corrie (obviously they’re doing what they can to give us content for as long as possible). I really just want some sort of normality back!
Also wish my kids school would lay off a bit. They expect us to do 2/3 hours of ‘home learning’ a day. I’ve done practically non! Idk wtf I’m doing and my kids don’t take it seriously at all. I wish the head would be a bit more reassuring for those of us who are struggling to get it together cuz the main source of my anxiety at the moment is the kids and ‘home educating’ them. Feeling like im letting them down big time but at the same time, all kids are in the same boat so why should I feel bad? Literally makes me want to cry.
if it helps at all I am a teacher (secondary) and I’m doing a rubbish job too my son has an old mobile that works on WiFi. I resorted to sending him words via text and he had to tell me what they saidHonestly, don’t be so hard on yourself. We are all just winging it. Thank you I really needed to hear this! The school have been fab in creating resources and being ‘practical’ but then they pile the pressure on by saying 2/3hours a day is what we should aim for and if I’m honest I don’t have it in me to do that much ‘formal’ learning every day I really don’t my kids are EYFS and KS1 so I really don’t see the need? Thankfully their teachers have been fabulous and more understanding.Honestly, don’t be so hard on yourself. We are all just winging it. One television network has said Trumps escapades last night will go down in history as the" biggest meltdown "from any US President...And many networks abandoned the briefing half way through wonder why

I also found this which made me feel better too, so I’ll share in the hope it helps other parents as well x
I know it’s been said a thousand and one times but this thread has been a life saver in the last month,
I dread to think how we’d all be consuming and processing the news without a place to vent, chat and be silly as well as serious!
Ours has sent loads of stuff. All ideas really and lots of things off Twinkl. They’ve said though basically do as much or as little as you please and just keep safe essentially!Think all schools are different , my kids school got a jotter home with a table of 10 tasks ( all easy tasks not really work ) to do as they please , that was to last till easter holidays and the school messaged saying they will do the same but different tasks for after ... where my friends kids schools sent home all the kids jotters and work books and they teacher sends daily tasks of what he/she would have done in class that day .
@Oohthedrama.. Mary Lou has the covid
Totally agree. I’ve had a few good days but today I’m having a bad day. First thing I did (apart from dealing with the kids obvs) was have a little skim through here. I’ve said it before, I’ll miss this weird thread
Yes I get that ! I said before "The show must go on " for him ..even if there no audience left to view itDon't forget trump is and was a businessman. It's all he's known so the fact he sees the stocks and his businesse figures dropping probably scares him more than the threat of the virus. He is a president now, but like people keep saying he's not designed to be a president so he is struggling with the whole morality thing as it's never been important to him before. He sees his economy going busy an economy they he has taken part and invested heavily in so he's panicking about that. I think he is off the belief that is it's going to get you regardless so just keep going.
This weird thread ain’t going anywhere for a while, so take some comfort in it (in a strange kind of way) . But when it dwindles it’s because we are all leading some kind of normal, with a bit of luck. Sorry you are feeling flat, I’m the same today, have you watched Trumps Meltdown? there are a few gasps and laughs to be had. If you are having a bad day, think how his wentTotally agree.
