Maybe they're picking up an old infection ? they're supposed to be more sensitive than a PCR

I asked that but was told no. I think they are but sure look all I know is I’m in agony from that pcr and I am literally trying to ease the pain so at this stage I’m done. Stupid feckin tests. First time ever needing them.

Yuck that's jenny Harries kids more likely to be run over by buses than catch covid.
10 to 19 bigger recently that more than over 70s for entire pandemic .
I'm sure she said sky new yesterday sue said once Christmas is over there be less demand for LFT tests i mean testings bot just fir xmas when schools go back and work lft demand increase.

My 18month old niece is ill im praying she doesn't have covid.

Are any parents or teachers just a little concerned that 48 to 72 hours after new year mixing senior school England are back.
If omicron has takes a few days to brew testing day 3 and 4 might not show postive but end next week and 2nd week jan in school be total tit show postives.
My eldest school catchment area is now sea of black on live infection map.
Bloody hell nothing more than I want is my kids back and tidy house.
However we need extra week at least create a firebreak whats point sending them in to get covid then spread to rest of family and miss school.

Had Spanish inquisition at vaccine centre trying get my ashmatic 15 year old 2nd dose.
Gps put her on vunerable list and Gave me ccg link to book dose 1 pfzier.
But because boosters end Boris random announcements vunerable 12 to 15 year old got sidelines so 8 weeks later was no centre to book a under 18 in my city or next nearest city was almost impossible.
Eventually trust said book via email and ho main vaccination centre.
So we have email booking and instructions and then get lecture and questions how bad is her ashma , when last time she was in a & e, that we should have a letter from gp. We can't even see gp. Its 12 days befire 12 weeks they eventually do as we explained trust said 8 weeks and shes back to school and her 1st dose at 12 weeks be no good.
In fact nhs keep telling us 2 jabs is not enough yet no explanation of science why teens only get 2 jabs.
Why adults wait 28 days after infection and teens now 12 weeks.
Why adults get 8 week gap between dose 1 and 2 and teens 12 weeks.
Feel totally pissed off risks they taking with children.
Seriously worries about gcses this year it won't be a level playing feild.

Happy new everyone.
Here's hoping 2022 gets better as 2021 been hard.

Happy near year Tattlers :) Great to read our health secretary saying we need to learn to live with it like Professor Doom aka Whitty said back in April. Let's hope he sticks to that. Our economy is going to recover better than most of Europe from being open and not paying people to stay at home or like other parts of the UK putting restrictions on businesses so a rumoured 100,000 from other parts of the UK came to England to see in the new year.

People in ventilation beds hasn't changed in months. Yes hospital admissions are going up a bit BUT it's completely different. In the past with Alpha and Delta they were stronger and people were less jabbed so hospital patients will have needed a lot more attention. Now with the milder Omicron and people having had the chance to have three jabs people in hospital won't need staff hanging around them as much. It's more a case of keeping an eye on them in case their situation gets worse.

We have a lot to be happier about compared to most of the continent.

My friends 5 year old had it over Christmas and she’s recovering alright, just a little breathless from her cough and still a little tired. My friend and the rest of her kids didn’t have it. My other friends niece (who’s 8 I think) also had it just before Christmas and she only had a sore throat and headache, she’s recovered with no problems.

Hope your wee one is doing ok!

All the primary children I know who have had it have had headaches and feel tired and have head colds and are back to normal within a few days.

Try not to worry. Though I know it's hard.

Our secondary school in England made the decision for the children not to return until Monday 10th January in order for them to test and get pcr if needed.

My friend who visited me a few days ago tested positive, and my antigen test is coming up as positive, so it’s safe to say, I have it. I’m not going to bother driving to the get the PCR test, only for me to be told something that I already know.

Overall I’m fine, I have a bit of a tightness in my chest and a head cold feeling. My sense of smell and taste are fine, no coughing and no fever, so I think I might just have a mild dose! I’m fine though and I’m probably going to sleep for a few days x
 
My mum is doing my head in she has been a close contact to three people this week who now have tested positive. Two she saw on Monday and one on Thursday she has been testing negative since Wednesday but is still testing. Surely she would have had it by now she wants to know why she doesn’t have it 🙈
