But it prevents people against serious complications. I tend to trust the doctors. Here, despite their little past disagreements about Covid management, they all agree about the importance of vaccination for fragile population (like the elders) and health care professions. Long before the obligation, they were more than 90% to be vaccinated and encouraged vaccination. Then there was the nurses.... and the less vaccinated were the nursing auxiliaries... The thing is the distrust of covid vaccination in healthcare comes mostly from those who haven't had medical studies.
Yes but surely that's that's their risk to take ! it would be different with a fullproof vaccine .I don't think the distrust comes from lack of medical studies I think it stems from crooked governments with their own best interests at heart but want their people to carry them there.

There doesn't seem to be any joined up thinking when it comes to schools. In our school there are 3 cases of Covid in Y6 and 1 case in YR. Y6 therefore have to eat lunch in the classroom, have separate breaktime, banned from breakfast and after school club but the siblings of children in Y6 are able to do all these things despite sharing homes with Y6.

I think so. Here, before Covid, there were already mandatory vaccines for students and members of medical and paramedical professions (it includes porters...), members of professions exposed to prevention or care establishments/facilities and exposed to nursing homes , also the workers from medical laboratories and those who prepare the deceased (embalmers? I don't find the exact word).
And other vaccines just recommended.
The nature of mandatory vaccinations can change. Flu vaccination requirement is suspended since 2006, and typhoid since 2020.
I have worked in many health trusts and vaccines are only required for clinical staff and even at that there are exemptions for eg if they can show they have high antibodies to hep b they don’t need the hep b vaccine.

The statistics are very clear about that (and without going that far, just talking to people around us). It's not only their risk when they deal with fragile people.
The politics and governments are something else.

First face to face parents meeting today and they will be going to the pantomime this year too ...I feel sorry for parents missing those early years moments ,chavy or not they're special times you'll never get back :(
We have yet to hear what our schools doing, but thiers been no parent/class assemebleys yet so i think i know whats coming

What I wrote is about France, I don't know how it works in the UK.

But even fully vaccinated the viral load is the same ,it's only the person that has the vaccine may feel the benefit .I still don't see how it justifies mandating them (based on transmission) they really need to be making it clear they want them to have it because it may cut down on the length of absenteeism ( should they get symptoms ) I think healthy people would rather take their chances with something that rarely affects them over taking repeated medication in an effort to cut down on work days lost.

The vaccines do reduce transmission but since the Delta variant is more transmissible it isn’t the same level at stopping transmission to what is was with the earlier variant - Alpha which is what the vaccines were first being tested against.

I know that? Apparently the latest study shows Delta to be 70% more transmissible in an indoor setting compared to Alpha most of the Gov data is based on Alpha , Vallance even admitted that , it still doesn’t change my opinion on mandatory vaccines I don’t think there’s enough robust data to show that even if healthcare workers are vaccinated they’re less of a risk to patients ,especially those in full PPE.

My kids school (primary) have pushed parents evenings and Xmas plays to online and cancelled their Xmas parties. Delayed panto until January 🙄🙄
It’s sad ,especially as the kids look forward to these things our cases have doubled today so we’ll see how things go from here it could be cancelled yet ,it’s tit having to live like this 😒

Yes the Delta variant is highly transmissible and has changed the course of how things are being handled. I wasn’t trying to change your mind. 🙂

I posted on here fairly recently asking if anyone had ever had the "nasopharyngeal" (could be spelled wrong) swab done for a test before as I had to book a private test for travel - got sent loads of horrifying pics and videos. Put me right off. So I booked what I thought was the usual nasal and throat.

I was wrong guys! Got the brain tickler (not really, felt incredibly weird though). It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but what a shock haha.

England without restrictions down by 3k. The UK as a whole with the restrictions in place in the other three countries and the decrease is less than 2k.

Panic must be setting in already for the aftermath of COP26 😩 I don’t want to have to show a vaccine passport just to go out for dinner!
Get used to it. It will be requires for everything including leaving your house soon.

But it's what people want so it's what will happen
