Good to know LFT’s are more accurate than first thought. I must stockpile some more then. 😂

Covid: Lateral flow tests more accurate than first thought, study finds https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-58899612
They likely are quite accurate, but human error needs to be taken into consideration too.

So many have been carried out in the uk that even a small percentage of inaccurate lateral flows will mean lots of cases slipping through

Human error will mean a number of cases will go undetected but it is good to know that LFT’s are very accurate if the test is done properly.

I've only just looked at my latest shielding letter, it states shielding will not be implemented again. That gives me some sort of hope.

Also, I thought my 3rd jab was a booster but it's a 3rd primary dose
Are they just giving a third AZ and not Pfizer ?

I wonder if its different for different areas, what terminology they're using.
They refer to them as boosters here as they're giving you a boost after the initial shot

The walk-ins and Drs here are calling them boosters :/
They’re different and we’re being told to ensure we tell the person administering the dose that. The difference lies in the Moderna vaccine - for a booster it’s only a half dose, for a third vaccine it’s a full dose. Pfizer is the same either way.

It just depends on who you’re speaking to. My GP sent me a text for my ‘third dose’ but my workplace are calling them boosters. They’re the same thing essentially, it is just an additional dose of the vaccine
They aren’t the same. They’re slightly different, see above.

They're being called boosters here as well. Ultimately they're they same as what you've had though and haven't been adapted to Delta.
Having known now 8 double vaccinated people who have all had covid very recently, and 1 being very ill to the point they're ringing 119 because they can't breathe and another being hospitalised with it really not looking good, I'm not sure what use "boosters" or "third doses" are if they're not being adapted 🤷🏼‍♀️

do you have a compromised immune system, when I had my 'booster' the lady behind me was given her '3rd primary dose', and while we essentially received the same jab, she was recieving chemotherapy and was told she would be likely to be called in the spring for a booster.

Yes I do, that would make sense. Thank you

The third doses are useful for people with blood cancer who didn’t get any antibodies from the first two vaccines at the very least. I’m hopeful my third dose will give me some. I’ve been told we’ll be expecting a 4th dose in 6 months time (research suggests that people with blood cancer won’t get antibodies until 6 months after chemo)
