Ive been able to see private dentists throughout but trying to get an nhs appointment is like planning a bleeping mission to space. No availability for “at least the next 6 months” I just don’t understand it… they can’t be that busy surely. I can’t afford to spend £100+ on my teeth each time, it’s rinsing me!

It’s appalling the wait for nhs dental treatment in some areas. I’m fortunate enough to have went private a few years ago and it’s made an enormous difference for me. It disgusts me dentists had to be closed at the beginning of the pandemic, it made no sense at all. Good oral health is important to have a strong immune defence so to have closed this for some time has created a back log while also potentially leaving patients more vulnerable to covid.

Are you talking about a GP? If I'm being completely honest I am not certain why quite a number of GPs are still not open, especially with the capabilities of being about to take temperatures etc before admitting to the practice. I know a friend of mine struggled to get a GP appointment for her 14 month old. They fobbed her off with saying it was symptoms of Covid and to take her straight to A&E. Of course in a panic she did, only to get to A&E to be told she's exhibiting no signs of childhood Covid and then having to fight the GP for an appointment again. Turns out it was tonsillitis

If its a hospital, and I can only speak for my own here, it has been a push to do as may follow ups or post surgery calls via the telephone or video conference. Unfortunately I don't think everyone is happy with how patients are being vetted and it can be completely based on who you speak to first. In my service its surgery so we are seeing every patient for their consultations.
What are the signs of childhood covid ?

I know it doesn’t fail completely but it does largely and the worry is that with new variants it is likely to be in a worse state. Prof Pollard is the head of the Oxford vaccine group and he has made clear this virus won’t reach herd immunity so the vaccine programme shouldn’t be promoted around that anymore. We should instead be researching and developing treatment for a management of disease and learning to live with covid.

We know that Covid is not going anywhere and we will not eradicate it but what we can do, as you have also mentioned, is keep researching different treatments (alongside the vaccines) for managing and treating it in the short term and long term.

Yea. I agree fully with professor pollard. We should stop mass testing and only test people with symptoms, we should give our vaccines to poorer country’s around the world and we should focus on treating and managing covid which is what the vaccines can’t do.

He also said there's going to be vaccine induced variants and they shouldn't be using vaccines as a sole way to control it

That is why I said ‘alongside the vaccines’ in my post. 😊
You’ve also stated on many occasion that we need to have a vaccine

What are the signs of childhood covid ?
None all that different than in adults but we have been looking at children with temperatures over 38°C but the symptoms tend to lean closer to a cold then what I have seen in adults with Covid.

I've just pulled up what we were circulated and it list the below as symptoms in children - unfortunately very vague and can be attributed to most childhood coughs, colds and flu!
  • Nasal congestion or runny nose
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches or body aches
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Poor feeding or poor appetite
  • Belly pain

Yes I am pro vaccine, so? Not sure what point you are trying to make. I have previously said that vaccines are working and doing what they are supposed to be doing.
They aren’t doing what we’d like them to do though. It was initially believed we could obtain herd immunity with vaccination hence why the programme for vaccination is built using a herd immunity model, they aren’t doing that, so that’s why there needs to be a change to the vaccination programme.

The point is you're constantly pushing the Government narrative when the science doesn't support it .

A billion pounds being spent for booster jabs for Autumn 2022 at £22 a pop up from £18. Pfizer are getting greedy and with Autumn boosters the next two years being Pfizer we seem to have binned off our own sold at cost AZ.

Thank you x

I am not pushing any narrative. I believe what I believe in and that is my right.

They are preventing deaths and illnesses though so they are doing something. Yes with emerging variants, herd immunity may be questionable.

No one is disputing that they are doing something, but the fact is they aren’t doing what we want and need them to do. Herd immunity is out of the question with the delta variant that exists, it’s going to be worse with emerging variants.

Can someone please explain to me why I still can’t see an NHS doctor or dentist face to face. Is there even a reason anymore?
Trade unions is my answer, they've ruined education also. They're nothing but modern day agitators.
I count myself lucky to not have such a problem as I've easily been to access those services.
I think a factor is population density also.
Stubbornly resisting due to preferring zoom appointments? Is there any 1 answer? Not good to refuse medical treatment to patients whatever the reason.
Covid has given numerous institutions excuses to do whatever they like without reproach.
