Totally agree ! Wish Ken had told Gail some home truths about sarah

And take Gemma with them

This Gemma storyline about having to have a few jobs to manage financially is ludicrous. With 5 kids, they would be coining it in. Rent and council tax paid by state, child benefit, Aled's disability benefit, free nursery and lunch fees, and Universal credit.
Free nursery would be from 3 iirc - how old are they? If they were getting tax credit and working tax credit they wouldn’t get free school meals. DLA wouldn’t be much if they knew to claim. They’d still have to pay some council tax and possibly some rent too depending on cost.
They can take Gemma, I just don’t know if it’s accurate that they’d be paying for very little. Nappies for four kids at once would be expensive alone.

People on benefits can get 15 hours childcare for 2 year olds. Not sure the exact details but I'm sure they would qualify although I don't know if it would be capped after 2 kids 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've never heard of anyone with quads before 😆
I don't have a clue whether they would get tax credits or UC where they live and how much they would likely to get and they may not be much better of with it but there never seems to be any mention of benefits at all They seem to know all about it when it comes to Paul though. Suppose with Bernie living there that will change their income too

ah yeah I remember now, it’s the term after they turn two so it can be a wait still. They probably would be on UC now, it would depend on when the transfer for people with only one child happened.
It is weird though that they don’t mention anything. I wonder if it has something to do with disability related benefits being seen as acceptable and the others as scroungy?

Plus they’d have been allocated a council house long ago, they’re vastly overcrowded and would have definitely been haranguing the council to find them a larger place.

It's a start, but in my opinion it is only scratching the surface of what needs to change, to make Corrie watchable again.
My rescue plan would include cutting back the episodes to three a week, quality rather than quantity is needed here.
Next bring in some new scrptwriters, people are fed up with the doom and gloom, and stories that drag on for ages. The humour has disappeared from the show, which is a big mistake.

Do you mean cutting the episodes to 3 x 30mins from the current 3 x 60 mins?

I find the hour long episodes a real slog to watch

My sister used to work for DWP and she said that the UC wouldn't be capped after 2 kids because they're quads so they'd be getting payments for all 4!
