I’d say she was expecting a tough time off the defence anyway, still awful to go through all that.

The only defence they have for McGregor is that “she wanted some”, which obviously isn't true given her injuries and the intimidation she’s received from him over the past 6 years.

The JL assault is a bit more foggy, I believe he also took advantage of her but nothing has been brought forward yet from her team. I did hear they have DNA in relation to him so we’ll have to wait and see.

I’m in tears reading the updates this morning. I know he’s a dirty lawyer defending his client but what he’s implying is so revolting. Purposely gas lighting.

You’d be so worried for this poor girls state of mind. I can’t even begin to imagine. I’m happy to hear she has a child. That’ll get her through.
 
Poor Nikita she is so brave. I'm totally down to support her outside court whatever the verdict. I am not hopeful they won't use texts timeline etc against her 😡😡😡 it's how they discredit the victim. She has suffered enough.

Dee is most likely trauma bonded to McRapist the cycle of abuse then lovebombing is v difficult to get out of nvm that he's violent and connected. I got out of a similar relationship after 6 times trying. I do hope that Dee sees this as the line in the sand and gets help to get out for herself and the kids.

Exactly, the trauma of reliving everything and being crossed examined combined with the actions of the DPP, I would never query why anybody refused to go ahead with a rape case.

In the linked case the DPP requested the victims case notes from counseling at the rape crisis centre, which meant that the defense (and so the rapist under trial) got to read the notes of what the victim said in therapy, he got to read how his attack impacted this poor woman's life with her partner, how it impacted their intimacy, how she was so traumatized that she could no longer hug her sons, how her sons invented "air" hugs to hug their mother without touching her, all this because of the actions of the DPP. I am ashamed that I am Irish at times when I see how we treat women.

Regardless at any point in time - if a woman says no, guess what… that’s a no.
Don’t do this blaming the woman stuff.
No. Means. No. Even if they’re both naked. She still has the right to change her mind.
It’s the mans responsibility to respect and stop.
 
I can’t say this enough - Nikita is brave to come forward with her story, on a man who’s as famous as that scumbag.
No woman, man or child deserves to be abused and it takes a lot to come forward, let alone when he’s arguably one of the most famous sports stars in todays age.
She’s a testament to abuse victims, that she doesn’t want money, fame, etc. she wants justice. She wants and needs closure and by doing this also spreads awareness to other women.
Men, regardless of fame, fortune, status, need to realise - no means no. Even halfway through an act, if that other person says stop, you stop.

Totally agree.

I love the tea analogy for consent. Think a lot of people could do with considering it.

Exactly. Even if she had agreed to have sex with him ( and I don't believe for second she did ) that doesn't give him the right to do whatever he wants. If he starts being aggressive, violent, she has every right to say stop and if he doesn't its still rape. Consent can be withdrawn at any point, saying yes to sleeping with someone doesn't mean you have given them the right to do anything they want. Rough sex is a bleeping understatement when you consider the state she was left in.
