So maybe I was hasty, new builder starts in 2 weeks....I wonder if her insistence on them being on camera put alot off doing the work. Maybe this reno mini room is so the family have a place to chill whilst the reno work gets underway in November si close to Christmas or she'll whisk them away for another expensive holiday whilst claiming to be skint. Place your bets now

This is going to be very interesting! I still think they will do the minimum and the optimal outcome for them would be if they can off load the house after doing that. The begging will be off the scale 😂. I don’t think an insistence on being on camera would necessarily be the issue - busy (ie good) builders are very good at sussing out high maintenance or difficult customers and turning the job down. I suspect most worked out they didn’t have the funds for what they wanted to do and were going to be a general nightmare.

The builder will be everything that’s wonderful to start with and then - if they don’t give some kind of discount etc - the pass agg digs will start

Feel sorry for the new kitten - not a good time to be starting invasive building work
 
I'm more interested in hearing where Dot and Toby are going after being evicted to make way for the dressing room. Any plans for them?!

We were encouraged not to have any combined dressing room/bathroom affair as damp is eventually apparently always an issue even with good extractors/windows etc. Also no door on an en suite?!

I don’t think that space actually looks quite large enough for what they want to do - hence some of these very suboptimal options. The bedroom itself has a bedside table nearly being hit by the door on opening.

What happens if everyone votes for eg 1 but they have already decided to do eg 3? Do you just do a post saying cheers for the engagement but we are in no way interested in your opinions and will carry on with our preferred option?! 😂

What happens if everyone votes for eg 1 but they have already decided to do eg 3? Do you just do a post saying cheers for the engagement but we are in no way interested in your opinions and will carry on with our preferred option?! 😂

The en-suite plans are larger than most family bathrooms
She could just have a shower, sink and toilet like most people do in an en suite.
This is a great example of her total tone deafness
 
This actually boils my blood, when so many people are finding it really tight this past few years. Mrs jetsetting 2 houses pleading being too poor to do what she wants, and then proceeds to do a clearly bleeping expensive reno is just insulting.

In Katie’s mind she IS too poor. She can’t have a swimming pool and Drippy has had to put the graft in for two years to top up their funds to even allow her to have an en-suite and dressing area. But that is still very sub-optimal and second rate as she has had to abandon her plans of creating a master suite in the loft. Please be kind at this difficult time 😂
 
It’s insulting isnt it? ‘Sub optimal plans’ when so many people are struggling financially and feeling like there is nothing after the bills from your wage. Yet here is Katie moaning as usual despite her huge wealth and multiple homes.
There is nothing stopping her having a ‘normal’ bathroom suite as an en-suite from a high street brand.
The truth is she’s getting a sizeable discount from Day True which she won’t let on about.
I suspect the pool is still coming…
