Comedians you don’t find funny…

I don't get Noel Fielding either, way to out there for me.

I used to enjoy Sarah Millican and Michael McIntyre back in the day. Millican's stuff comes off as dated now and McIntyre is so hyperactive I can't watch him. I can't believe I never noticed it before. I saw Sarah Millican live once and she didn't come across well.

Rosie Jones - can't understand her very well at all, and I'm frustrated with how much airtime she gets given the material isn't that good.

Sofie Hagan- not funny with a chip on her shoulder.

Eddie Izzard- joke about the French was really good, asides from that I'm left cold.

Jason Manford, Peter Kay, Tim Minchin, Lee Mack, John Richardson, Romesh Ranganathan, Ricky Gervais, Micky Flanagan, Harry Hill, Keith Lemon, Paddy McGuinness, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Matt Lucas and David Walliams- I dislike the lot of them. David Walliams seems like a creep, anyway.

At this point I'm struggling to remember what comedy I do like. I haven't really watched stand up in so long because the quality is so bad.

I think it's the other way around and women are actually funnier than men!
On the whole I find women to be more sharp and observant, (maybe because traditionally they have always been relegated to the sidelines, and had to have their wits about them in order to navigate a predominantly patriarchal environment)?
🤷‍♀️

So many funny women on TV and films but it seems like some people have amnesia 😬 maybe we just don't command the same level of attention, or respect or pay? Hmm 🤔

I can think of so many funny women, for example Dawn French, Ruby Wax,Melissa McCarthy, Lily Tomlin, Gilda Radner,Carol Burnett, Jennifer Saunders,Whoopi Goldberg, Sandra Bernhard,Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller plus many more and these are all part of the mainstream.
Then you have people like Aisling Bea, Sharon Hogan, Sara Pascoe, Katherine Ryan, Amy Schumer, Josie Lawrence,Marti Caine, Julia Davis, Gina Yashere, Sally Lindsay,Tracey Ullman,Caroline Aherne (sadly deceased) and this is to name but a few 🤞

I don’t agree. I think Katherine Ryan is good normally, Judi Love, Lou Sanders and I recently saw a very funny comic called Susan Riddell.
I don't mind katherine ryan but I find something about her delivery annoying. Totally agree re female comedians, there are so many good ones, you really notice how hard it is for women on shows like Mock the Week (is that on still?) when men would always rush forward to speak ahead of the women and tend to dominate the conversation

Mock The Week just got canned. I think it’s having a couple of retrospective shows at the moment.

I totally agree but they did get better for female representation towards the last few years of the show.

I remember Lucy Porter talking about how toxic it felt going on it when she appeared in an earlier series.

Toxic? I wonder if that was the feeling from the other acts or from the crew? I’ve met one or two of the regulars on the show and had a few drinks with one (Ed Byrne) and can’t imagine him or any of them being toxic.

As an aside, Frankie Boyle is nothing like his stage act and a bit of a posh lovie in real life.
