Cobra Kai Netflix

Yes. Felt it was dreadful
Yeah Mexico trip was pointless with all those stupid little interruptions where he was about to tell him he's his son. Same old tit with the teens changing Dojo's every episode. Bringing back old characters - had completely forgotten about the girl who was in the 3rd film. I definitely think they're struggling for storylines at this point. Oh and then there's the ridiculous Kreese in prison saga. If they do another season it will no doubt centre around this world tournament that suddenly exists.

I’m not sure that they can do another season. Cobra Kai (the dojo) is over, Kreese is out but would be instantly arrested for breaking out of jail as soon as he appears in public.
Silver is in custody. Robbie and Miguel are friends now. Everyone’s friends with each other. Everyone who was in the 3 films has now appeared. I don’t see what else they can do?

It just didn't feel like a full conclusion yet. I still think they'll go the world tournament angle. And they can all easily fall out again. But if they don't, I guess it will do as a finale. I'm starting to think the whole thing might have been a one season wonder. The first season had a completely different feel to it

Interestingly it hasn’t been renewed for S6 yet. So I guess we’re still 12 months+ from any new season (even if there is one).

I thought about S6 some more :

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that's the last series. Even if they went for the big international tournament thing (which no-one had ever mentioned before this series), who'd represent Cobra-Kai now? Both Sensei and student?

The ages are all over the place. The all-valley contest was supposed to be an u-18's competition but all of the kids look to be in their mid 20's now. Miguel has a real 5'o clock shadow on his face and Tori looks like someone in their mid 20's (which of course, she is!).
It's not as bad as Karate Kid 3 where Daniel was 28 and older than Terry Silver, but it's getting there.

It seemed to me that everything was rushed in the last episode and all the loose ends tied together pretty shoddily. Daniel went from someone who got his ass kicked by Silver early on in the series, to being an all conquering hero who Silver couldn't even lay a finger on in the final fight.

The first series was great but it's slowly got worse especially when the emphasis was on the kids. Oh, and Mary Mouser (Samantha, 26 btw) still can't act. LMAO.

So aftter been told a few times to watch it .me and my partner ended up watching all 5 seasons last month .got so into it .i cant wait for the next season and im in love with johnny 😆 i also love johnnys and miguels relationship

I can see S6 being Kreese's redemption arc (possibly dying at the end or escaping to retirement somewhere in the tropics).
I hope they go totally OTT for the last series and go out with a bang.

And not just as a part 1 of 2, but of 3 (!) 🙄 Get it together, Netflix.

I recently rewatched most of season 1, and it was such a different show back then, produced by YouTube before the move to Netflix. It focused a lot on Johnny and Miguel, with Miguel basically being the new Karate Kid trained by Daniel‘s nemesis. And Daniel wasn’t really always the good guy here, which made for an interesting dynamic. Loved the humor.
I understand why they expanded the cast and stories over the years, but sometimes I wish they would go back to basics and what the show initially was about.

I loved the first couple seasons, but 5 really missed the mark for me so I'm not all that bothered about 6. I would have to renew netflix because I was just doing without it ahahaha and it's not looking enticing enough to resub.
I don't get why they're doing it in so many parts other than to try to drum up interest and ratings by dragging it out.

Netflix and others ruin series for me by doing it in parts like this. It’s so annoying. Stop dragging it out. I won’t be watching it until all episodes of the new series are available for me to watch. And judging by what you’ve said here about it being in three parts, I guess I’ll be back to this thread in about two years or so 😂 see you then! I do love Cobra Kai though. It’s so bloody cheesy, but I love it.

Binge watched it all -

I did quite enjoy it but was completely padded out at times. And they're literally doing the same thing with Daniel and Johnny once again. Same with Tori flip flopping once again. Why would she go back with Kreese when she knows he fixed her win? Her mum dying doesn't seem like a solid reason. It was obvious they all cared for her when she was fighting Sam. Even though we have to wait until November at least they're finally at the tournament

You know, they had Tori mention that her senseis would call the feds on Kreese if they saw him. So we can assume that after his brutal little prison break, he is a fugitive, yes? And yet he can travel from the US to Japan (?), back to the US to meet up with Tori, and then to Spain? And now he’s just officially at the competition, presumably without Daniel and Johnny calling the authorities? Sorry, I know the show is fantasy at this point, but this was ridiculous.
Also, I kind of feel like the show maybe should have ended after season 4 👀 I’m seeing this through to the end as this is the last season, but you can tell they ran out of ideas.

They could have done the world tournament without Kreese and it still would have been decent. He doesn't really even need to be around. Tori flipping again doesn't even change that much as she was always on the opposing side anyway.
