Her need for privacy a la Meghan and Harry has bit her well and truly on the arse because she's now lost most of her earning potential, especially the product endorsements like L'Oreal. It'd be tragic if they got back together because everyone knows when a band does this they're skint. Look at S Club ..... they all hate each other!

Especially cos her whole brand was essentially built on her marriage troubles and crying on the x factor 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wonder what she's spent all her ££££ on...she must have got used to designer clothes and surgery I think, when she was getting paid for the xfactor and releasing a solo album a year, then tried to carry on that lifestyle when she became a recluse.... That must be why Liam has to pay for the house 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kimberley grates on me like nothing else but in fairness to her, she would turn up to the opening of an envelope, wears all high street clothes, develops property on the side etc to preserve her finances. How embarrassing for Cheryl that Kim nice but dim might be richer than queen superstar chez loooolll
 
That company had to pay back tax owed to HMRC since it incorrectly paid capital gains tax instead of income tax and NICs, so that's probably why. She'll have plenty of money squirrelled away elsewhere considering her total earnings from Girls Aloud and her solo career were £20m+
 
The comments are interesting 😂 bit harsh, she’s only 40!

For someone who dreamed her whole life of being a star she seems to have given it up very easily tho. The press intrusion she got wasn’t THAT bad, it was mainly positive coverage

The paparazzi were camping outside her house and stalking her until it got so bad that she had to get an injunction in 2011. And I'd say she got very positive coverage from the tabloids until 2018 when Dan Wootton majorly turned against her and started pushing the narrative that she was old and washed up. Once you're getting headlines like this it's probably not hard to walk away, combined with the fact that she has a child that she adores and is happy to devote her life to.

Yeah but in 2018 she wasn't really a thing any more. To be honest in 2011 her star was slightlyyy waning as it's when she married the Fernandez Versini and her name became too long so nobody could be bothered any more 😂 and she got the injunction actually just on the cusp of her becoming irrelevant so bad timing
 
I feel a bit sorry for Cheryl, not saying I’m her biggest fan or that she’s been faultless, but I can imagine it must be quite isolating feeling like people hate you and want you to fail like it’s seemed for a while now with the way the press write about her. The comments on DM articles are always very negative as well.

She married that guy in 2014. After 2011 she still had three more #1s, a solo arena tour, and the Girls Aloud reunion - plus she earned about £4m doing another two series of X Factor. It was when she took a long break to have Bear that her career suffered the most, and then there's the obvious double standard in the music industry and the media of how receptive they are to a female popstar in her 30s vs a male popstar in his 30s.

Fair enough, you were obvs around the same period as I was so your opinion is valid, but there was a definite shift after like 2011 ( you’re right about the marriage dates, my bad). By 2012 she was still on the X Factor but kind of limping along, it and her heyday was over, she was kind of a bit of a joke

The comments have a nasty flavour to them as well, always going on about her being a Geordie as a negative thing. It’s a special type of misogyny towards working class women

Don't mean to split hairs but her second solo album released in 2010 still went platinum, and that was without having a song as big as Fight For This Love to drive sales (though it still had a #1 single). 2011 was the year she got sacked from XF USA and didn't really do much for the rest of the year. 2012 was when she had a #1 single and a #2 album (only blocked from #1 by Justin Bieber, who released his album on the same day), along with a solo arena tour. In the same year she had a #2 single with Girls Aloud and their second greatest hits album made the top 10, followed by the reunion tour in 2013. She didn't return to X Factor until 2014, when she got two #1 singles and a top 10 album. She also still had all her lucrative brand deals with L'Oreal, Beats, and Apple. I wouldn't say she was a joke at that point with all those achievements.

2015 was when negative comments were made about her weight and she was clearly going through a hard time due to the divorce from Jean-Bernard, and the only work she did was for her charity and another series of X Factor. She got pregnant in 2016 and only did L'Oreal advertisements and a couple of minor televison appearances, as well as working on her charity, until she came back in 2018. That was the year when Dan Wootton began lashing out that Cheryl and her manager didn't give him the story of her breakup with Liam and he pursued an agenda against her. Then by the time she released new music at the end of the year it had been four years since her last material and the music industry had transformed massively with the rise of streaming. That's when she started flopping, but up until then she was still very successful by any measure.

Cheryl and Liam dragging out their break up to spite Dan Wootton brought me great joy.
 
Where she really lost it was how quick she announced the marriage to JB but never confirmed that they'd split and also how she would never confirm her pregnancy....some may say she doesn't need to butttt when a large part of her fame hinged upon the fact of people feeling like they knew her, her life, her emotions etc then obviously that sort of behaviour isn't giving the "fans" what they want...

Isn't that why these slebs have llc's, because it allows them to publish only certain funds and protect their personal assets.

Her house was bought by Liam. I do wonder if people like Nicola Roberts has a normal day job considering she had her house repo'd

I'm sure there's still an audience for it if the music is good. There was quite a bit of hype and interest for Love Made Me Do It. It was only the poor quality and controversy about whether she had surgery that sunk it. She still has over a million monthly listeners on Spotify, which is more than for Girls Aloud.
