Some people think he's gay but Simon cowell said in his autobiography he picked Cheryl because he fancied her and wanted to try and shag her 🫣

Sorry to be a cow but this is tattle and she won’t read it :) found this from 2008 and I’m not actually sure she would have aged well without the surgery after all? For some reason she looks awful here, gaunt and no face fat. This would have been her at 40 :)
 
She got the X Factor job because she brown-nosed him (the video below has her phone call to him which started it all off) and because she was in the papers every week for being married to a footballer and being gobby. She was meant to be a judge on Britain's Got Talent at first (instead of Amanda Holden) but pulled out a few weeks before the show started, then the X Factor vacancy came up when Sharon left. By then Ashley had cheated on her and everyone pitied her, so she got a much better reaction to being announced as a judge than she likely would've if she started on BGT in late 2007.

I kinda concur, - although I think he was maybe bi leaning in his earlier days.
I think the whole Cheryl thing was for show, it’s just weird that she was married at the time……as it was humiliating for Ashley every Saturday night in front of millions. However I guess Ashley had already cheated by then so maybe Cheryl was like duck him……? Or Cheryl had already told him Simon was secretly gay, so Ashley knew he was no threat and just sucked it up as punishment for his own disloyalty.
The second one I reckon.

I don’t think there would have been a solo career without X Factor. I don’t think there would have been a GA hiatus either.
 
It’s crazy to me how she was the nations sweetheart for years during her X Factor heyday and now nobody gives a tit. It’s sad really. Feels like she disappeared overnight!

I believe her marriage to Ashley was genuine but I never believed in her relationship with Liam. I can’t understand why they’d fake that relationship though, it doesn’t make sense to me, Liam didn’t need her at the time and she’d already chosen a bit of a quieter life by that point, so I don’t actually think she did it for publicity either. There’s just something about it that never seemed real.

She wanted to be left alone by the paps and even took out an injunction against them. Maybe she thought she could stay out of the papers and still have a big career like Britney or Beyonce. Once the papers stopped writing about her everyone forgot about her.
