The house thing is an extremely weird take. Let's be real: no one moves out of their house (owned or rented) after a relationship just because the now ex lived there. 😹😹😹

It's different if you signed a rent contract together or if you bought together - then one of you (or both) is forced to move. But that's not the case here.

Unless he follows her on social media, Darren won't even recognize Carrie if he's expecting to see the woman in those PR photos. 😹😹😹😹

He doesn’t follow her on insta 🤣 he’ll be in for a shock when she turns up stomping and screeching

I think leaving your house after your relationship has ended is very circumstantial and depends on your emotional state and your financial stability

Carrie seems very settled in her home which is why she didn't want to leave when Oliver did

I used to say to my partner if we ever split up I'd go live abroad because of how heartbroken I'd be 🤣

this announcement has upset me to my very core.

Also they didn't buy it together, it's her house he moved into, so I don't think it's odd for her to still live there

I don't think Carrie needed to move of course but it sort of amuses me that Oliver and that relationship's 'ghost' basically haunts the house now (because she's not over it, as far as we can tell).
I think it only haunts the house BECAUSE she's not over it. If she were over it, it wouldn't be lingering. Likewise if she had moved house it would still linger because she's not over it no matter where she lives

Wasn't that sort of the narrative she leaned on when she moved out of the flat and bought the house? That whatever went down with Pete traumatised her so much she couldn't live there anymore (but not to the point where she couldn't keep it on as a rental)?

I watched some of her youTube videos (not all), but I vaguely just remember when she announced the new house she said she never left at home in the flat because it was so small and it's like she was holding out for something different where she could feel at home and settled.
The flat was so small (according to her) that she couldn't even fit her stuff and much of it was in her parents garage until she got the house. I personally wouldn't want a forever home that couldn't even fit all my stuff, when I had the money to get something bigger.

For someone that has always claimed to want to have a family and kids, a house can be the ultimate dream home. So it made sense for the flat to be left behind and I'm sure this would have happened even if she had stayed with Pete.

Edit to add: I agree with what other people said, her not getting over Oliver is mental and has nothing to do with location.

I wonder if she had Joel sign a pre-nup?! What with her owning two properties.

They're not legally binding in the UK, but the courts have recently started to take them into account if they were written in good faith/with capacity etc and won't leave the other with undue hardship. But they can still completely disregard them too. So I reckon not given how quickly they've rattled through the milestones, I don't see them slowing down to add the friction of legal advice.

It’s still crazy to me, that the person whose DM’s she ignored for 8 years, she let move into her house after the 1st date. I honestly wonder what Scott really thought when he went down for breakfast and saw shrek sat there, wiping his nose and face, wearing a Snow White and the seven dwarves, onesie?

The hardest thing for me to understand is how you even MOVE on the first date. Staying at your date’s place for the night is one thing, but moving makes me think he had at least one suitcase with his stuff ready to get to Carrie’s house.

I genuinely cannot comprehend letting someone move in to your home after 1 date.
