Except Harry and Meghan are dealing with actual bigotry and ostracization because they're an interracial couple in a family with generations of racists and colonizers. Carrie just thinks valid criticism is meanie haters.

Exactly this! I'm anti-royalist, but Harry and Meghan are standing up to actual bigotry and racism. There's been research done that shows most of the hate comments about them on Twitter was orchestrated by a very small number of accounts, because there's been created a targeted campaign against them. Christopher Bouzy writes about his work on this on Twitter. They're not doing things for attention, they're doing things to tell the truth after not being believed/listened to the first time. Completely different case from Carrie and Joel.

It's not a H&M thread but it's not completely different, they have been caught out lieing on many things which are easily fact checkable, which in turn makes it hard to trust everything else they say which is more serious. The plunged into happiness fairytale narrative they are trying to create is similar to Carrie and joel too

They really haven't. But back to Carrie and Joel.
 
Wow, okay, a few things that jumped out from Carrie’s live yesterday:
• She sounds and looks so incredibly bored and lifeless. I think it’s just tiredness (because, you know, she had to get up for 10:30am!!) but I cannot understand at all why she chose to do this live when she did. She didn’t have anything she particularly wanted to talk about?? She just seemed like she was done with everything.
• Joel doesn’t know her favourite sweets?? I know it’s a silly, minor thing but does seem odd given they are literally engaged (and Carrie does like sweets a lot)
• Is she pronouncing Maleficent wrong?? It sounds like she’s saying Mal-if-icent but I thought it was pronounced how it’s spelt?? Excellent Disney fan there…
• This is verbatim what she said when asked if she was excited to get married: “Am I excited to get married? I’m very excited to get married. Very, very excited to get married… umm… yeah… it’s a good feeling. It’s a very good feeling.” All whilst completely dead behind the eyes and in a monotonous voice. As someone who got married this year I cannot comprehend my response to someone asking if I was excited being to say ‘yes, it’s a good feeling.’ I think that says it all.
• When Joel joined she remained entirely bored, monotonous, and dead behind the eyes even when acknowledging him
• She was way more animated talking about panto and lipstick and other mundane things than the few times she mentioned Joel

I started watching but she seemed so monotone and lifeless so I gave up
 
All of us after Crabbie and No Neck Shrek announced their engagement…

I got married in 2020 and I'm still more excited about my wedding than she seems!
 
I think she hyper focused so much on Joel that she didn’t fully think it through. Now the hyper focus is gone and she’s smelling the (nespresso) coffee and is over it, but doesn’t want to hurt him because he’s SO into her.

You’ll hurt him more in the long run by going along with it, carrie

She’s also so obsessed with getting married at 30 and proving that she’s SO happy and no one else has a relationship like theirs. That live from yesterday was very telling IMO, Carrie we can all see that you’re unhappy, just be honest with yourself. I’d have respect for her if she was honest and called off the engagement. She looks so unhappy now imagine if she does marry him and in a few years she’s headed for divorce, get out while you can.

Joel was the perfect ego boost for her after Oliver left, but now their engaged and reality is hitting and it’s her own fault. She really needs to breakup with him you can clearly tell she’s not happy in that live. Just be honest Carrie, it’s okay. It’s going too blow up in her face and then what?! Look how unhinged she’s been since the breakup, and her and Joel are engaged. This is unhinged and not healthy, I can’t help but wonder what her family and friends honestly think of their relationship.
