Just saw Carrie's post about Wicked and 'I badgered my music teacher into putting on a show I like at school so I could be the lead' just makes her sound a little insufferable to have been in a class with honestly 😅 Like just imagine the scenes if someone else had been cast as Elphaba when it was Carrie's idea
This is petty of me, but it really winds me up how everything has to have this really unique, emotional backstory with Carrie in a starring role.

I'm a fairly emotional/sentimental person myself, so not dunking on her for forming strong attachments to things, and I get that we're all the main characters in our own stories. But I swear, it can never just be "I came across this by chance and enjoyed it" or "I was a fan as a kid" or another mundane explanation. It's always got to be the deepest, most passionate adoration which no one has ever experienced before (even if the story isn't strictly true like how she's changed narratives around how long she knew Joel before they got together and if they were barely acquaintances or if she'd always secretly had a bit of a thing for him).

It's probably the opposite of what she intends, but by emphasising how special and unusual everything is, she actually undermines how meaningful things are to her, because if everything is special, nothing is, y'know? And putting herself at the centre of every story, even when it's grossly inappropriate, like with the death of that theatre doorman, or when she recommended her own work as a suggestion for the last book a person with a terminal illness would ever read, really belies the sweet, humble persona she tries to convey.

I sometimes lurk, so apologies for randomly popping up! I came to ask why she wasn’t with hubby at the premiere. I’m not sure what the circumstances are of the invitation and maybe not allowed a plus one but who is the guy she is with?

Hamilton plays on a Monday night so Joel will have been over at the Victoria Palace "working".

The guy she was with, Vinny Coyle, all I know about him is he's a singer in the odd musical but seems to fill the gaps by doing a lot of one man shows, and he has one of those at Crazy Coqs at the end of December, with Crabbie appearing as his special guest. He has the same agent as her.

There’s an influencer called Ellie Mae Grady, who also went to the premier. In the same dress. Can’t find any Getty images, but even in a travel lodge bathroom, it looks better. Nothing to do with her age it build. It just suits her more, and looks less like Mabel stuck Pom poms on mummas dress

How is it possible that they look like two completely different dresses 😭

Is Carrie's too small? Comparing side by side, the flowers/pompoms are closer together on Ellie's and the waist hits quite a bit lower whereas on Carrie, it hits right under her bust.

Could be a case of designers not adapting their patterns to accommodate curve, or her maybe taking a chance on a lower size if she was between two? Not sure, but just some thoughts. I actually don't mind the dress at all: as far as Carrie's outfits go, I can't find too much fault with this one.

I think the pom pom placement looks odd on carries. It looks like some have fallen off!

That's what it is!!

Yeah I think it's lazy design. They've gone "you get 5 pom poms at the font!" And it looks tit on any size above an 8.

Why did he get her the sheet music book when she can’t read music though

Of course she burst into 'tears of joy' before it even started 🙄 She's so disingenuous.

The dress is from the brand Lace and beads, £100

I got a similar one in black for a formal event last year. They are ok, quality isn’t great but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen on Carrie. I think she looked nice - not well put together - but nice all the same, as much as saying that pains me.

I was trying to find Carrie's dress and landed on that site with this dress that I thought was quite pretty. No idea how it translates to the larger sizes as they haven't included pics 🙄

Maybe it's too plain, idk.

The dress is nice but it looks tit on her because she keeps insisting on choosing colours that don’t suit her at all. Either the awful 1970s brown and orange palette, or bright jewel tones that wash her out.

She looks best in light or pastel colours. But as with the hideous hair, she seems to be on a mission to make herself look the worst she possibly can these days.
