Absoutley, she needs to stop chasing the next thing that will fix him and get back to basics. She must be overwhelming him with everything. Those "social stories" she draws for him are so overly complicated. I get confused looking at them never-mind a 4 year old. Social stories are supposed to be very very simple and in a sequence. Those stories she draws would have the opposite effect. Things need to be very simple, very predicable, very consistent for a 4 year old.

I think she is totally overwhelmed by Caolan. She is the type of person who needs a lot of time for herself. I do feel there is a neurodivergence with Caolan as I don't think she is a terrible parent and his behaviour is not typical.

ALooooot more problems with caroline then meets the eye. the handbag and the mother bow down to her as she's prob made threats etc in the past - wouldn't put it past her .Serious mental health issues plus more likely a spectrum diagnosis with caroline

Oh my god there is a new thread!!! I was thinking everyone was gone a lot more tolerant than me After the breakfast stories this morning I had to come looking, I knew I couldn’t be alone

I’m surprised she is still persisting with preschool, I’d say whoever she went to about him before the summer gave her some talking to about it but thank god for the sake of the child.

But honestly it is basic parenting that children need consistency and boundaries. Who makes pancakes for a child on a Monday morning? And then French toast?! Having the kitchen a tip and running around making different breakfasts does not keep things smooth and calm. My kids get offered porridge or weetabix on a weekday morning, that’s their routine and it takes away any fuss first thing in the morning. It is that simple!

I've said it before, he's a very clever little boy but I can't help but feel his speech is suffering from lack of socialisation and she really needs to get whatever slurring impediment he has looked into.
