Which isn't strictly the worst idea. We have an aging population and a lot of issues faced by older adults simply aren't given enough thought, funding or fixes. But there are much more established charities who could helm such a cause because finding these solutions is their whole focus (unlike the CTF who literally only seem to exist to shift flowers and gin).

Hannah just wants to turn her dad into the new Pudsey. 😕
The difference being that Children in Need is just that - for children. I’m not against having a charity day for older people but why does it need to single one out “Captain Tom Day”. It’s not even alive himself!

Big piece in The Times today too.

I struggle to see how Hannah can come back from this now. However the problem with people this self deluded and narcissistic is that they feel zero shame so I’m sure she’ll keep trying. Cockroaches.

"On his LinkedIn profile, Ingram-Moore, a chartered accountant, calls himself an “entrepreneur in the land and development sector”."
Clearly not a very good one if he's started and dissolved 50-odd companies 😂

I've just read something interesting about the origins of the now-dormant Captain Tom Day.

Dame Esther said she had been keen to work with the foundation, having been "awe-struck" by Captain Tom's "courage, wisdom, humour and determination".

She said she had been contacted by Captain Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore to create a day in his honour "which would be a kind of Children in Need for older people".

Well if you don't ask, you don't get is clearly Hannah's philosophy.

She posted it again a couple of hours ago tagging Captain Tom but still only has 6 likes. How embarrassing. I expect she thought she'd get 100's of likes because she's such a big celebrity 🤭

I think she’s testing the water to see if people are still willing to donate. If they can’t even be bothered to do a free click then there is slim chance they’d ever donate to her charity again.
