With all the stuff in the news about Dee Dee Blanchard, I think we'll have a munchausen's by-proxy storyline soon. A mother causing a child's illness due to her own mental health issues. Never fear, Dr Turner will sort it all out in 40 minutes.

While typing this, I was thinking back to Dr Turner's diagnostic prowess and randomly remembered that Christmas special when they went to South Africa (and Dr Turner saved the day again). In the early 1960s surely that trip must have been by boat and must have taken weeks just to get there?

Yeah they say it they go by boat.
 
So I’m curious and yes I know it doesn’t matter and yes I know it’s only a tv drama ! But out of the turner kids whose is whose and which are adopted ? I was under the impression that the older boy was dr turners , the little boy was biologically both of theirs and the 2 girls were both adopted .. is that correct ?
 
Also on a rewatch binge, upto S7. Barbara's death was the last shocker they did tbh. She was on deaths door then yaaay she's come round and all visiting and happy then...

Bam. Killed her off. I was shocked as tit watching that "live" as it were. No chance of that happening anymore. I'm a diehard CTM fan and even I barely paid attention. Train crash was an opportunity to shock but nope, Fred too and nope.

You are - except May isn't adopted as the Mother blocked it so they foster her technically.

May and Angela are adopted although on the show wiki it says May is a foster child, Timothy is Dr turners from his previous wife and Teddy is theirs ☺️☺️
 
Last night’s was actually a better episode. Like old times, I found myself blubbing a bit and it was actually Gladys’ story (asbestos cancer) that did it especially her scene with Sr Monica Joan who I normally can’t stand. I don’t know, but Gladys set me off. But I think nothing could out-ham last week’s!

A shame about Matthew and the money problems but at least it’ll wipe the smug look off Trixie’s face. Maybe she’ll stop working her way through his money for her shopping needs.
