Do you remember the hostage situation that went on? I remember thinking how far fetched that wasI remember the nightclub bomb. Even at 11 years old I thought having a bomb 18 months after the gas explosion on one shopping parade was a bit far fetched
That will be my Sunday viewingI'm looking forward to rewatching, saving it for the weekend, used to love it!
I downloaded the STV player app to watch it on

STV Player are showing 10 episodes per week, I think they are available from a Tues or Wed.Does anyone know what the schedule is ? Is it like the other classic soaps 2 episodes a day?
Thank you, I quite like that 10 episodes in one go!!!STV Player are showing 10 episodes per week, I think they are available from a Tues or Wed.
You can watch all 10 in one sitting.
I'm no techie but I think there are nearly 3,000 episodes of Brookside, and putting all those on their Player, available all at the same time, just wouldn't be possible.
Billy!!Im wfh today and have caught up to episode 6. I didnt watch the early ones as not old enough ☺ but i didnt know the corkhill guy was a teacher. What was his name??
He would become Frank Rogers in the series, his family would move into the Close.Billy!!
Also the guy who was helping “Gaz” to move in. I recognise him from something else. Who was he?
Ahhh yes. I just about remember now. ThanksHe would become Frank Rogers in the series, his family would move into the Close.

Ooh its a bit risque isnt it. I had an episode on just now and heard ‘gary windass’ say “im going bare back”
Quickly switched off as my 10 yr old was about. No wonder i wasnt allowed to watch!!
Yes i love seeing the old cars etc. The decor in the houses too. It’s quite nostalgic.I caught episode 1, looks almost like it was filmed in a home movie style
Loved seeing the old cars, the yellow Citroen 2CV, Bobby Grant's Austin Princess & Barry's gas guzzler Jaguar.
I remember when these new-build estates were springing up & hanging around the sites with pals, being a nuisance to the night watchman.
Soaps like Neighbours definitely took inspiration from Brookside a few years later.

Roger's underpants oh my
Keep watching, a few storylines & characters start to emerge in these first 10 episodes.Iv just got to episode 2 now thanks to this thread, my mum used to watch Brookie and I watched back in the later years (I was born 91)
Im comparing Roger to my next door neighbour (always looking out the window watching what neighbours are doing and what everyones up to!)
Love seeing the old cars and styles of homes/fashions.
