When I had my son 40 years ago he had pneumonia within a few days of being born and had a drip in ( first his hand then his foot then they shaved his hair and put a drip in his head ! ) which he kept pulling out as he was a big strong baby ( 9lb 10.5oz ). Oh how I cried when they did the head one but I still got the nurses to show me how to suck out the mucus from his lungs so I could help him.
He wasn’t getting better and then they said he had a blockage in his stomach and needed surgery. So we were blue lighted to another hospital for an op same day!
