Mazher Mahmood the fake sheik, who is in jail after trying to set Tulisa up, ran a story about Kevin leaving Britney.
I think it did make it to the NOTW but he wrote about it in his book - he found Kevin in Vegas hanging around in a high rollers lounge and he was sleeping around. I think by that point the tide had turned and both Brit and Kevin's popularity was a bit of a low.

I would love this. She spent most of this book talking about other people, I really wanted to hear her talking about herself and what she thinks/feels about her songs, albums, performances, etc. We know she likes Blackout and Glory and hated the Onyx tour and her Vegas shows, that's all.

Her VMA performances in 1999, 2000 and 2001, her EMA 1999 performance. The Pepsi Superbowl commercial where she switches between generations.
My favourites from her albums are Oops, Britney, Blackout, and Circus. They all remind me the most of very specific times in my life.

Fave video looks- probably overprotected both videos- more the darkchild remix one though

my fave EVER Britney looks are these 2. The colourful Versace one is my ultimate. She looked incredible

I don't know. I used to sleep in my older brothers bed with him when our parents argued or my stepdad was drunk and irritable, just in case. I guess it depends on context and a lot of it seems to be missing from this book.

Granted the media was hit and miss with her before her break up with Justin but he absolutely put fuel to the fire. I don’t think there’s any argument to be had the way he treated was point blank bloody awfully wrong not only while promoting justified but even years after.

I completely understand why you would do that, and I hope by branding Britney doing it as icky, it didn’t offend you. In her case, something about it just felt off to me. Perhaps it was because of the earlier description of the Spears males, that a family member had accused the Grandfather of sexual abuse, or just because I read more into what wasn’t said. Who knows. But I do see why you would want to be with someone and somewhere you felt safe.

Britney in her prime was one of the best performers in the business. Not singer, but performer. There's nobody around right now who does what she used to.

To be perfectly honest, I think the jealousy goes both ways. Christina played second fiddle to Britney for years. Voice aside, her songs weren't as good, her shows weren't as good, she had less charisma, wasn't much of a dancer, was less likeable, I could go on. Her career has never taken off in the way it could have, and I think it chafes her ass. Even now, no one's giving Christina a $12 million advance for her memoir. She was constantly making passive-aggressive remarks about other performers, not just Britney, even while aping their style. I truly think she relished being friends with Justin after the break-up because she knew it hurt Britney.

Agree 100% & I’m nearly finished her book & Britney hasn’t said anything nasty about Christina. She actually says they met up whilst under cship
Christina has had numerous celebrities & even fans say she’s very mean (there’s a video of Avril at the Brit’s in 2022-13 can’t remember exact year saying how she approached her & said hello & Christina was extremely rude)

I think for them it’s been twisted & blown out of proportion by the media like it was with media calling Avril the anti Britney she never said she didn’t like Britney & actually went to see her shows. The media from early 2000’s especially has a lot to answer for in the way it has treated women (not just Britney)

It's just a consequence of Britney being the gold standard to which all female pop stars between 1998 and 2005 were compared. Every record label tried to find its own Britney. Christina was Slutty Vocally Talented Britney, Avril was Punk Britney, Jessica Simpson was Christian Britney, Mandy Moore was Less Sexual Britney, Hoku was Hawaiian Britney.

Wow that's exactly the same as me! Born to make you happy is my fave song of hers and I thought she looked sooo incredible in the Oops I did it again video, I was obsessed as a child haha. That was probably her peak.
