Bridgerton

Aww it’s cute that they know how everyone’s been excited for a Benedict season 😁 now hurry up and see that it takes less than two years to release six episodes. How did Downton Abbey manage to shoot and edit ten episodes within a year back then?

The only thing I can think of is Bridgerton has a lot of cgi, whereas Downton had none/very little (except the big episodes like Rose presented at court).

But even then. They only recently started filming the new Jurassic World movie, and that's due out next summer, and that will have loads of cgi.

I can understand between seasons 1 and 2, but by then you know you have a hit so could be working on it all the time.

Yeah I don't get it either because even the Bridgerton writing room seems to work much slower. They need six months for 8 measly episodes?

I wonder if that's why? Does the writers room add much too it?

Downton was mainly Julian fellows wasn't it?
Yeah it was. They did have a massive cast though with some of them being able to do other projects on the side as well (Maggie Smith probably being the busiest!), they brought in big guest stars in every season, but yeah, produced it all in a year every time. And their episodes were long too.
I do understand though that streaming services work differently. But you’d think that global hits like Bridgerton etc. would get prioritized. Sadly, I think the last thing Netflix is interested in, is their viewers.

I don't understand why it takes Bridgerton writers so long to turn it around especially as they are based on books so 99% of the plot is already there... whereas Downton Abbey was a brand new story. The longer they take the more they run the risk of actors moving off and having to recast...

At least with S4 we won’t have this ridiculous “are they or aren’t they” nonsense and the stans literally tying themselves in knots at every press event. Lukey T is happily in a relationship !
