Books #33

I doubt finding the road is not going to be a good thing. All they will do is expose themselves to snowmobile person or something. I feel sorry for Chloe. She saved the family but at what cost?

Also the new day pages with the camera/video recorder/projector, fire anyone think there is anything in that it is it just a thing?

I am starting to think the author had this idea for 25 Days but only really had 20 days writing and had been randomly filling for a few days since. I am still really enjoying it though because I have zero idea of where this book is going.

This is the longest ever it has taken me to read a 350ish page book. Haha.

A very quick chapter. I think their joy at finding the road will be short lived. They need to make it down there first and Chloe sounds like she’s on her last legs. I get the feeling they’ll thumb a lift and the first car to stop will be snow mobile person 🙊 but he won’t have his mask on so they won’t recognise him and will all get in…
Apart from a brief mention of the stocking the other day the slides haven’t been explained or mentioned again. Was it just to scare them into thinking someone was watching them from the cabin?

Guys maybe I’m being thick but how do I find the stats for my 5* reads and what percentage I’m in? I’ve gone into the my year in review bit and it gives me how many books I’ve read, how many pages, average review and then it lists every book I’ve read but I can’t find the pages you’re all posting!

Ignore me I just realised it’s in an email that I deleted! I was also very stingy with 5 starts this year considering I’m on 119 books!

It’s in the email they will have sent you. It took me a while to figure that out.

woooo! 119 books is amazing.

I just checked my deleted items to dig out my email, I was top 10% too, which I can say is probably about 1/3rd due to the amount of audiobooks I got through this year. I would probably say I've read an even mix of phsyical books, ebooks and audio. Audio for while working, and the others to balance how many books I can fit on my shleves versus Kindle. I would say I've formed a habit now of buying books I'm not sure about as ebooks because they are often cheaper and don't take coveted space in my house. I tend to buy physical books if they are part of a series that I know I like, or classics that I know I will reread. I've also used the library Borrowbox and Audible membership to tick off some of those long-term 'Classics' TBRs that I know I just want to read once.

I'm getting The Magic Faraway Tree on Borrowbox audio in a few days. Ready for the film coming out.
I'll be laid there stuffed with food trying not to fall asleep as I listen. 😁

I wonder how Goodreads works out the percentage?

Is it books read? Pages read?

I'm not sure how both me at 64 ish and @lokp0009 at 119 are in the top 10% is all 😂
I was also a top 10% reader with 57 (at the time the email was sent!). I wonder if thats taking into account every single Goodreads profile including inactive ones…not to detract from any of our top 10% achievements!

A little late in the day but…

I’m a little worried that the road WILL be a path to freedom and it’ll be a case of “they all lived happily ever after the end” and nothing will get tied up and we’ll never know the true identity of snowmobile man 🤣

7 minutes until I find out anyway 😂

10% with 82 when they generated the graphic.
I think there’s probably a high volume of 10-30 book per ann users. Aka people who are able to resist Waterstones double stamps weekends and kindle 99p deals.. 😯
This makes sense to me, the average reading challenge target is 39 books.

I'm in the top 1%, I have read 279 books this year.

I am on 99,109 pages read. I really, really want to get to 100k before the year is out. So 3, 350ish page books. If I didn't have to be sociable before the year is out it would be easy!
Wow, good luck! I hope you manage it!
