I have to say I did think it was strange that he returned to Naples very quickly as surely he wouldn't have been expected to arrive back until the late afternoon/early evening so for him to arrive back in the morning it suggests that he perhaps didn't want the day off and just wanted to get back to Naples to prepare for the game on Sunday. Yeah, it might explain Scott's absence as he may have took the extra days off to see his family and friends but if that's the case then I'm surprised that Billy didn't do the same especially when they are both living abroad now and they will not get to see their family and friends that often, but as I said he might have returned to Naples early because he wants to be fully focused for the game on Sunday. Cam probably wasn't at the match on Tuesday due to work commitments because as she is a director at an asset management firm she perhaps couldn't get the time off work to attend the match.

Speaking of Scott did you see that Jose Mourinho played a key role in him opting to play for Scotland as he said "Scott could play for Scotland and wants to play for Scotland so Alex Mcleish should come down and sign him up". Alex went down to the club and had a meeting with Jose then Scott came into the room and said "I've thought of nothing else other than playing for Scotland".

Exactly I thought he would have stayed in Glasgow on the Wednesday morning to see his family and friends before heading back to Naples in the afternoon but like you said he obviously wanted to get back asap to prepare for the game on Sunday. It is definitely strange how quickly he went back to Naples though it's almost as if he couldn't wait to leave Scotland for one reason or another

Yeah, Scott's dad is from the Helensburgh area and I can imagine that Scott wanted to make his Scottish grandpa proud by representing them internationally.

I could be wrong but I think that's what Cam does.

Just realised Liam Henderson plays for Empoli who Napoli are playing tomorrow! He was in Celtic youth team. How on earth did he end up there So many Scots out in Italy just now.

I was just looking at Liam Henderson's Empoli career and I see he was at Empoli on loan in 2020 but then a year later he joined them permanently from Lecca and did really well for them, however in 2023 he was loaned out to Palermo who had the option to buy him but that never materialised as he went back to Empoli and again he seems to be doing quite well for them. Tbh I'm surprised that he has never received a call up to the Scotland squad but I suppose with Scotland having multiple midfield options his opportunities would be limited but if Scotland do happen to have a midfielder crisis it wouldn't surprise me to see him called up.

It sounds like Billy struggled a bit in the first half but Conte was pleased with his second half showing. In the press conference the other day I see he was asked about why he signed Billy and he stated that he signed him as he wanted to bring in a similar midfielder to Lobotka and that he has very similar characteristics to him and that he has personality in playing the ball. The transfer was also made easier by the fact that Billy wanted to join them.

I think it will take him a few games to get up to speed with Serie A football but once he does I reckon he will do really well for Napoli. It was a good win for them today as Empoli have started off quite well and it was a tough test but they got through it.

Yep, they play Lecce next week who are currently 18th with 5 points.

I fully agree with you. Exactly Napoli are doing very well at this moment in time and haven't lost a game since the opening day of the season. Imagine if they won the league in Scott and Billy's first season it would be wild.

Scott has been excellent, best decision for him leaving United. I see Billy has been liking a lot of Brighton and his ex team mates posts. I reckon he’ll miss Brighton, he did genuinely seem happy when he was there. He’ll be loving Italy though. Someone else wishes he was back at Brighton though...

It would be amazing and I would be delighted for both Billy and Scott.

Scott is thriving at Napoli as he seems to be playing well every single week and tbh I think he realised that he had to leave United as he probably knew that he wouldn't get that much game time. It was the best decision for him to leave United. I agree I think Billy will miss Brighton a lot as he did seem happy when he was there but I think the minute that Napoli showed interest in him his heart was set the move. He will be loving Italy though as he is playing with some really good players and he will be playing in a league that suits his playing style.

I'm glad to hear that Billy bossed it for Napoli today and here are his stats. It looks like he also created chances for the team and did his job defensively by clearing one off the line. Hopefully this is the start of more good things to come from him and I see a couple of fans have compared his performance to Andreas Pirlo.

It's a massive compliment that he is being compared to Pirlo after only his second start in Serie A and if he keeps performing to a high standard Napoli fans will be singing his praises even more. It wouldn't surprise me if they get back together at some point.

What a player Pirlo was! I seen him against Celtic in CL years ago for Milan, he was amazing! We won 2-1 that night, god knows how!

I was just having a look at the football matches that are on TNT sports and the Napoli vs Milan one isn't but on the 3rd of November Napoli vs Atlanta is on TNT Sports 1 at 11:30 as well as Napoli vs Inter match on the 10th of November at 19:45 which is again on TNT Sports 1.

Pirlo was an amazing player as he made everything look so easy.

I'm really pleased to see them both doing well and tbh I think they are both loving life at Napoli ❤

It seems like lots of former Chelsea players are playing for AC Milan as Morata also plays for them. It's mad when you think about it but it shows what a popular league Serie A is for English and Scottish players as more seem to be making the move now whereas before they might not have considered it.
