It sounds like kiddo has disabilities - but requiring the highest tier? A child who can look after himself for long periods of time while ma is in bed? It doesn't sound like he needs special equipment or aids or carers etc I think of a child needing that top tier as being basically unable to do most things for themselves. I may have that very wrong so apologies.

There's been some beefing going on on Twitter with a quite obviously unwell lady throwing insults at our heroine and some other folk for some reason I can't remember. It's interesting to see the difference in approach from our 'be kind, it's mental health' advocate, who pointed out that she seems poorly (which she does, fair) but, rather than just block her when she received abuse in response, has progressed to posting snidey pointed comments, thus poking the bear.

Totally agree. Why else wouldn't she be desperate to get him in a specialist school? Plus she's too bleeping lazy to get up and get him there. Poor kid

The poor kid is going to have such massive gaps in his knowledge he'll probably withdraw more from social situations as he's older, thus confirming to Bex (and him) that she was right to keep him from school. It's self fulfilling.

Btw I wonder if he still has to ask permission before he can cuddle her?

Sigh. Nobody here as far as I know has a problem with Home Ed as a concept but she seems particularly inept at it.
And I'm not sure 'even before I had a child I knew I'd keep future children off school' is quite the flex she thinks it is. So it was nothing to do with kiddo's choice or temperament at all then?
And sorry yes I do think getting up at about 7 at least every morning to get him to school was a factor
